The Drake x Ye "Wolves" album. I'm making this thread for anyone curious on the history of the album. There's bits and pieces scattered all over the internet but not one place with a full rundown. As someone who loves both of them and was there and excited from the beginning I wanted to compile a summary for those who missed it or weren't there. I tried to keep it interesting but still using sources and only using facts but of course there's a lot we will never know publicly so there's big gaps in 2017 and 2019 and holes in the story no one but Drake or Ye know

Part 1 ("Calabasas Is The New Abu Dhabi")

    (02/20/2015)
The album is first revealed by Kanye during his Breakfast Club interview (40:14)
‘Ye spoke about a planned joint album with Drake and his upcoming untitled project.
‘Ye revealed that he had discussed creating an album called Wolves with Drake several years ago but it never materialized. Instead, the album concept transferred into a track featuring Vic Mensa off of his forthcoming album.
“Yeah, I asked him and we talked about it and we said yeah we was going to do it,” he told the morning show hosts. “The ‘Wolves’ song came from a conversation that me and Drake had, where we was going to do an album together and the album was called Wolves…Me and Jay start talking about Watch the Throne, then Drake went and did all the records with Wayne and did the tour.”

The next year, February of 2016 brought the release of his 7th studio album The Life Of Pablo. On the album featured the pair working together on 2 tracks. Drake wrote "Father Stretch My Hands Pt 1" and "30 Hours"

The pair would drop their second official collaboration featuring both rapping and Jay Z for Drake's "Pop Style" single on April 5th. This marked their only track together since 2009's "Forever" posse cut but they did work together on All Of The Lights and the previous Kanye songs. The single was originally intended for Views but was replaced with a different version due to Jay Z's Tidal competing with Apple Music who had signed Drake to an exclusivity deal for their streaming service. Unsurprisingly something to note is that Drake also wrote Kanye's verse for this song and Jay was never intended to be on it.

    With Kanye and Jay

    Album version

Kanye along with 40 would add additional production to another track by Jordan Ullman that Drake used for his Views album. The song became "Feel No Ways" and was lauded by critics and fans alike.

West and Vinylz had a helping hand in producing "U With Me?" by OZ. That song started out as a Travis Scott song but made its way to Drake. A portion then leaked in 2014 featuring an early verse from him. Fortunately a new version still made the album.

Following the release of Views Drake finally spoke on the rumored joint album during his interview with Zane Lowe

"Kanye lives up the block. We have a few things that we’ve worked on. It’s all about finding a place for it. ‘Ye is one of my favorite people in the world ... I hope we get some more music out. We were supposed to do a mixtape, album together."

On August 28th 2016 the first promotional billboard was seen

Reports flooded the news and the blogs. The media frenzy commerces

Drake posts him and Kanye together on Instagram dated November 7th
    instagram.com/p/BMgbDTsjq1s/?hl=en
"There goes the neighborhood." A bone chilling threat to the streets of Calabasas and hip-hop as a whole. The rollout begins!

However just a few weeks later trouble strikes during what became the final show for Kanye's Saint Pablo tour in Sacramento, CA on November 19th. West began to rant about Drake's song "For Free" being on the radio too much, accusing him and DJ Khaled of payola. He attacked the MTV Video Awards exposing them for having promised the award to Beyoncé's "Formation" over "Hotline Bling" and "Famous" if she performed at the show even though she didn't win the vote.

"I'M ON MY TRUMP S*** TONIGHT"

    "RADIO F*** YOU"

West repeatedly exclaimed this slogan over and over in what can only be described as one of his most bizarre yet insightful rants in his career. He name drops Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg and Shia LaBeouf. He says his life is in danger for speaking in this rant.

Ye later said he was off his medication and in a manic state and canceled the rest of the tour so he could seek treatment. Wolves is delayed indefinitely.

The next day during the 2016 AMA while giving his acceptance speech Drake took what some speculated were shots directed at Kanye himself

“For our genre, I like to keep things exciting and keep making music,” Drake said. “Shout out to everybody that’s trying to do the same thing. ‘More Life’ is coming soon and more chune for your head top so watch how you speak on my name, you know?”<

A chilling threat to any wastemans and villains. Drizzy declares war. The "more life" Drake referring to is his More Life playlist. Originally rumored for December 3rd Drake shoots that down and delays it into 2017. A leftover track from the Calabasas sessions makes it's way on the project. Officially premiering on the OVO Sound Radio episode of the "More Life" playlist by October Firm

Much like Pop Style this track received mixed reception from critics and fans of both feeling like the two artists were capable of better. It has gained a small cult following as More Life is being given a second look as a whole in the past few years.

Meanwhile Drake would respond more clearly during an interview with DJ Semtex

"I don’t know, I think everybody has their own little things going on, I’m not really sure what he’s referring to half the time, cos in the same breath, I went from being… like working on a project with him, to him sorta publicly s***ting on me and DJ Khaled for being on the radio too much. But yeah I’m not really sure, everybody’s got their own thing going on. Again me when I hear that, I just distance myself from it you know, alright if that’s what it is I don’t really even understand the point you’re trying to make but whatever it is that you’re going through, I accept it, I don’t respect it at all. You know cos I feel like me and Khaled are just good people, I’m not sure why we’re the target of your choice that you made that night. And yeah I accept what you’re going through, and I just go and continue working on my own thing. You know the more and more this progresses, the more and more I just feel like keeping to myself, cos its just so unpredictable, you never know which way people are gonna go. I mean streaming is the new record business, so yeah I guess you could call it digital politics, that’s kinda a good name for a song, I might have to do that when I get upstairs."<

Things would cool down for a while. Until Drake found himself dealing with allegations of a child on the way with Sophie Brussaux. TMZ was the first to break the news that would be shot down by Drake and his team.

    google.com/amp/s/amp.tmz.com/2017/05/03/drake-porn-star-pregnant

Drake remained quiet throughout 2017 as did Kanye. All seemed well until 2018 as both artist once again geared for their next album rollouts. Kanye would reach out to Drake and 40 for help writing in his Wyoming studio sessions. He revealed his plans to them of dropping his next album sometime in late 2018 (think October or November) in exchange for information of Drake's album plans and personal information. Drake opened up about his Scorpion album aiming for a June 15th release and previewed an early version of the outro track "March 14" revealing he had got the test results on that day confirming Adonis was his son along with an accompanying picture of him.

Kanye would preview some of his own work including a beat that caught Drake's ear. They struck a deal for West to gift the "Lift Yourself" instrumental to Drake for his album in exchange for his writing of the song "Yikes". Both parties had finally come to a peace and the friendship was rekindled until Kanye had announced his GOOD imprint dropping albums all throughout June. To make matters worse Kanye had decided to keep the Lift Yourself beat for himself and uploaded it to his website on April 27th.

No reason was provided for why he went back on the deal but Drake would go on without the single for his rollout. He talks about his frustration with the setup during his interview with LeBron James

As the studio sessions in Wyoming continued Kanye had scrapped all work on Pusha T's album Daytona in favor of producing each song himself. Including production on a diss track aimed at Drake title "Infrared" which released with the album May 25th.

Drake quickly fired back with his own response track "Duppy Freestyle" taking aim at both conspirators. Pusha the Puppet and Kanye the Mastermind. Pointing out the hypocrisy of claiming Drake has ghostwriters when he himself had in fact just written for their studio session that would be used on the Ye album for Kanye. He mentions Kanye's attempts to hold back Virgil Abloh saying he would instead let him flourish. Along with Pusha's exaggerating tales of d*** dealing and his old age (9 years Drake's senior)

Pusha T would respond days later with yet another diss called "Story Of Adidon" taking shots at the way Drake's father dresses and calling him a monkey, how his parents are divorced, his producer 40 for suffering from MS, bringing up Sophie's history in the adult industry and the revolution of Adonis being Drake's child. Only 2 men knew about that secret. Drake's closet friend Noah 40 Shebib and Kanye West both of whom were present for the Wyoming sessions.

This is were the lines get blurred as Drake believed Kanye divulged that information and he alone formed this sinister assassination plot from the beginning. Both West and his goon denied this and claimed the source was an intoxicated Shebib who laid with Nicole Zaira and let it slip, she then got them up to speed about Adonis not knowing that West was already informed. Who you believe is up to you but what is likely is that Pusha was not acting alone in the foiled attempt at Drake's life.

Drake was sent over the edge and began to work on a diss track to end all diss tracks titled "Duppy Deluxe" said to make 3Peat look like nothing. That was until Kanye had caught wind of it, desperate to stop DD from seeing the light of day he reached out to the one man that could, J Prince (Now a close Drake associate). The price he paid for Prince's help is unknown but many speculate had Kanye won in his future presidential 2020 campaign we may have seen the release of one of the nation's worst criminals (we'll get back to that later)

At Drake's breaking point and due to Kanye's playing both sides of the beef the two had once again fallen out. Kanye would continue his rollout with the Ye album releasing on June 1st and Drake releasing Scorpion on June 29th respectively.

(I'm breaking this up into parts just because of the limit on embedded images)

Part 6 (Jumpin' In The Lost Chapter)

Before we breakdown the release aftermath there is a story that is often left out from this tale. Some argue about it's authenticity and claim it's a myth but any old ktt og will tell you that's far from the case. For you see in the middle of the beef there was a small moment of forgiveness. The rappers had quickly come together and actually made a full fledged reunion song in honor of their friendship. It was never officially released and it's security clearance is even said to be above ktt2 admin Scott. This track is kept between only the most trusted members of ktt and so far the only evidence we have left is a transcript of the lyrics leaked to Genius.

    (Intro: Drake)
    Scorpi' Ting

    (Verse 2: Kanye West)
    While y'all niggas jumpin' Bordeaux

We got it jumpin' in Bordeaux

    (Outro: Drake & Kanye)
    I forgive you man
    Alright
We still getting this s*** done though
    You know thats facts

Unfortunately due to my own safety at risk, as well my family and yours too I can't share a link to the song. You will just have to take our word for that. This rumor manifested beyond ktt itself in the form of a theory dubbed "The Bordeaux Prophecy" a hypothesized meeting between Drake and Kanye that would see them reunite once and for all. Bringing an end to the dark ages of hip-hop. Whether this event would actually come to pass was anyone's guess but one could only hope.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Part 2 (Will The Real Keke Please Stand Up?)

Things would cool down as Scorpion would go on a successful run during the summer. Following it's release Side B track "In My Feelings" had started to go viral so much so that Drake released it as a single. Containing a catchy hook in reference to a woman named Keke aka K’yanna Barber (her initials KB being a dead giveaway)

"Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding?
Say you'll never ever leave from beside me
'Cause I want ya, and I need ya
And I'm down for you always"

"KB, do you love me? Are you riding?
Say you'll never ever leave from beside me
'Cause I want ya, and I need ya
And I'm down for you always"

Keke herself speaking on the song and how she met Drake

Twitter user Tyler Morrison jokingly tweeted about how Kim Kardashian once went by Kiki and it quickly picked up steam by September. That twitter thread was seen directly by Kanye West himself who became angry and finally broke his silence on the matter, a bit hypocritical considering he's frustrated at Drake being silent over the internet rumors.

"I want express somethings that aren’t sitting right with my spirit. The fact that people are making rumors that you f***ed my wife and you not saying nothing and you carrying it like that, that don’t sit well with my spirit. When you played that record for me in the studio that said, ‘Yo we got some Kylies, we got some Kendalls, I told you, Travis is your man. Don’t make no record like that. That man just had a baby with. That’s gonna be offensive to her'”<

For context here he's referring to a leaked song "20 Hoes" by Future and Drake. They reference Kylie Jenner who has a child with rapper Travis Scott (a mutual friend) on the hook. I can't link the song due to copyright infringement but lyrics are provided below

    {Chorus: Future}
I'm a headache to society (Hm)
Real s***, Kylie Jenner, that's a side piece (Woo)
Yeah, I got twenty mothafuckin' Kylies (Woo)
Nigga, I got twenty damn Kylies (Woo)
    {Verse: Drake}
    Verse 2: Drake
Yeah, I got twenty damn Kendalls (Twenty, ayy, I got twenty damn, ayy)
Young slim baddies and they en vogue (Twenty, twenty, I got)
Yeah, I got twenty f***in' Gigis

Part 3 (By the way... not cleared CLEARED!)

Speaking of Travis Scott let's go back a month to August 3rd. Travis would drop his highly anticipated album ASTROWORLD which featured a song with Drake "SICKO MODE". In Drake's verse people speculated some lyrics were in response to Kanye. The verse goes as follows

    "Slept through the flight, ayy
Knocked for the night, ayy, 767, man
This s*** got double bedroom, man
I still got scores to settle, man
I crept down the block (down the block), made a right (yeah, right)
Cut the lights (yeah, what?), paid the price (yeah)
Niggas think it's sweet (nah, nah), it's on sight (yeah, what?)
Nothin' nice (yeah), baguettes in my ice (aww, man)
Jesus Christ (yeah), checks over stripes (yeah)
That's what I like (yeah), that's what we like (yeah)
Lost my respect, you not a threat
When I shoot my shot, that s*** wetty like I'm Sheck (bitch!)
See the shots that I took (ayy), wet like I'm Book (ayy)
Wet like I'm Lizzie, I be spinnin' Valley
Circle blocks 'til I'm dizzy (yeah, what?)
Like where is he? (Yeah, what?)
No one seen him (yeah, yeah)
    I'm tryna clean 'em (yeah)"

Checks over stripes being a diss as Kanye signed to Adidas and Drake works with Nike. Drake might be saying he has lost his respect for Kanye and doesn't view him as a threat. Later on in December Kanye would go on a manic Twitter rant berating Travis and Drake over the song. He claimed Drake threatened him but provided no evidence and offered a conflicting message of being all love to artists while starting trouble with Drake and Trav. Surprisingly he compared Drake to another legendary rapper Tupac Shakur.

In this rant it was revealed that Drake had reached out for sample clearance of a Kanye song known as "Say You Will". Drake was getting ready to celebrate the anniversary of his classic So Far Gone mixtape 10th anniversary in a few months and a song on the tape featured the sample. Kanye only had this in response to the request.

Although Kanye had threatened to prevent the track from clearance Drake went directly to West’s label and was successful in securing it's release. That aside the duo had a surprisingly quiet 2019 as Drake was on winding down and Kanye was hard at work on Jesus Is King which released at the end of that year.

To ring in the new year Drake gave an interview to Rap Radar and released a single "War" before 2020 began. He speaks on his issue with Kanye starting at 1:14:32 and during the whole interview. He praises him many times but says Ye's public love but private hate for Drake causes issues between them. Kanye himself has spoken on his frustration with Drake's popularity in the past but it came to light publicly the next year in a leaked phone call released in 2020 but from 2016. Let me explain

2020 came along and saw both of them at work during the pandemic. In March a phone call was leaked from the Kardashian camp that contained damning evidence of Kanye falsifying statements him and his wife at the time Kim Kardashian made against Taylor Swift over the Famous music video. What exactly does this have to do with Drake? Kanye could be heard lecturing Swift on his fantasies of Drake f***ing his friends wives along with him claiming Drake is rapping him into a trash can.

“For me to tell Drake, the number one bachelor in the world that could f***ing rap anybody into a trash can, that lives four blocks down the street from my wife, and like basically f***s all of her friends, that I’m in personal debt is such a putting down the sword, putting down the hand, showing the hand, that I don’t have my poker face on, I’m just me,”

"So, you know, when I talk about Nike, the idea that they wouldn’t give me a percentage, that I could make something that was so tangible, when Drake was just rapping me into the motherfucking trashcan"

The video and the hastag #KanyeWestIsOverParty went viral

As for the rest of the year Drake was experiencing multiple leaks from hackers that ended with him putting out a demo tape and Kanye was hard at work on "God's Country" his next album. The former album originally scheduled for June 2020 became delayed as West began to focus on his failed presidential campaign for the rest of that year.

Part 4 (Yeezy Needs Him Some Jesus)

We're now in present year of 2021 (as of writing this) Drake's 6th studio album Certified Lover Boy is delayed from January to indefinitely. In the wait for the project he drops a surprise EP Scary Hours 2. A song him and Lil Baby made drops Kanye by name in the hook

"Yeah, I probably should go link with Yeezy, I need me some Jesus
But soon as I started confessin' my sins, he wouldn't believe us"

Fans speculated this was a hint at them having reconciled but we learned that wasn't the case during the rollout for Ye's next album. Later on West announces Gods County is now titled Donda and will be released on July 24th. The album suffers multiple delays as Kanye rents out a stadium and plays updated versions for the next few weeks to audiences.

Many shots at Drake are spread on Donda. A tiktok user by the name of @jeremy_hecht compiled a list together and he does a better job explaining it then I could by trying to write them.

During the Donda rollout Drake would record a verse for Trippie Red's album on a song called "Betrayal"

"I done done it all, it's like I'm Shawty Lo (shawty)
All these fools I'm beefin' that I barely know
45, 44 (burned out), let it go
Ye ain't changin' s*** for me, it's set in stone
    Rollin' stones, heavy stones (PinkGrillz)
Precious stone, let me make my presence known"

He refers to West by age and talks about his album release not changing as well as his legacy. With that statement made Kanye sets Donda for an August 29th release only 5 days before Drake.

On August 23, 3 days before Donda finally releases, Ye would respond by doxxing Drake's personal address with a photo on Instagram. Then attempts to label him as both a "nerd" and a "jock" in a way only Ye is capable of.

Drake uploads a story laughing and enjoying himself as a response to the doxxing. Dispote his address being revealed he was unfazed by the ordeal.

The next week during an ESPN broadcast Drake announced Certified Lover Boy was finally dropping September 3rd. The album would include 2 tracks that contained rebuttals against Kanye.

'No Friends In The Industry" is Drake going at every other artist viciously ripping into the industry politics and games they play. No matter how often the topic is switched or the goalposts moved Drake is always at the top of the game anyway you look at it. In one bar he reveals a canceled meeting between him and Kanye that was supposed to see them make up once more.

"Ask about The Boy and they gon' say they got the streets with him
Niggas so offensive knowin' they don't have no defense
Why they always act like we can fix it with a meeting?
All that linking up, man, I'ma see ya when I see ya"

Then again in the next verse here

"We ain't drop though, how you niggas celebratin'?
Already disrespecting, something I ain't tolerating
You niggas f*** with me, I give 'em motivation
And your circle shrinkin', see some boys escapin'
Rest of them is guilty by association (ayy, what?)
    F*** debatin' who the G.O.A.T.
Better not make the s*** up 'bout the numbers all I know
Better not make the s*** up 'bout the summer all I know
Better find you someone else to hit with all that smoke, nigga, yeah
And all them tweets and all them posts
Ain't got the type of time to be playin' with you folk"

For a second example "7am on Bridal Path" he directs a few more lines at Mr West. Another classic track in his AM/PM timestamps series where he addresses his critics and adversaries.

"I can give a f*** about who designing your sneakers and tees
Have somebody put you on a Gildan, you play with my seed
Trust me, there's some s*** you really gotta come see to believe
That's why your people not believers, they all leavin' ya
That's why you buyin' into the hype that the press feedin' ya
You know the fourth level of jealousy is called media
    Isn't that an ironic revelation?
Get that address to your driver, make it your destination
'Stead of just a post out of desperation
This me reachin' the deepest state of my meditation
Why you over there tryna impress the nation?
Minds runnin' wild with the speculation
Why the f*** we peacemakin' doin' the explanations
If we just gon' be right back in that b**** without hesitation?"

He mentions Kanye getting Adonis involved during the Pusha beef and to not play with his child. He talks about the doxxing incident and challenges him to take it a step further by actually pulling up to his house. He then explains that peace is not an option as West's unpredictable nature towards him will only result in the two men falling out once again and the cycle will continue. CLB would go on to double Donda's first week sales leaving Drake with yet another victory over Kanye.

To add insult to injury Drake would celebrate this win by leaking a diss track that Kanye made against Drake but withheld. It sees Ye mentioning SICKO MODE as well as him dissing Drake and Virgil Abloh. One line stood out to most people as it revealed Kanye's ties to the Gangster's Disciples

"Thoughts we was the new Abu Dhabi Told Drake don't play with me, on GD And he sent that message to everybody"

It received mixed reception however it wasn't a loss for Ye. Consequently the plan backfired on Drake as rapper Consequence stepped up to bat for his friend Ye. He released a scathing diss track that ultimately did more damage to Drake than anything Ye and Pusha could dream of. It made Ether look like Wanna Know. Listen at your own risk

"But from the outside, a person can tell
You going through your own personal hell
Your parents out here like Sonya and Dell
And ever since Sophie had a story to tell
You been taking Ls and coming out the cage
And thought we couldn't tell you were coming after K"

"And you ain't gotta try to talk Jamaica with me, cuz
Even the shotters in Toronto, know you tripping Drake
I won't trip, but Trippie left you dripping red
    Infrareds pointed at your cranium
Baby, this ain't the date at Dodgers Stadium
This is PM doing it to paladium (Real niggas know)
Who told Aubs that he could play with them? (Let that nigga know)
That boy Cons'd run the fate with him
I wish we could shoot 5 instead of group chats
Next time bring Chubbs with you when you shoot back"

"After this I'll be the hero that everyone hate
But the 6 don't got a chance against the 718
A problem with Drake only gives me more strength
'Cause that 40 found the dope 'til it becomes a four-fifth (Bow)"

Drake would ultimately regret his decision and has since not responded to "Party Time"

    Part 5 (BORDEAUX)

With that being said despite what you might think this is where our story takes a surprising turn. Not long after fellow rapper French Montana begins work on releasing his next album. What would be known as the critical success but commercially failure "They Got Amnesia" was set to feature a track with Drake titled "Splash Brothers". What exactly is on this track remains unknown to the public but rumor is it was so monumental that Kanye Omari West himself had set out to put a stop to it's release at all costs.

With Kanye already calling for a meeting with Drake that fell through he had no choice but to reach out to someone higher up then both of them. Once again J Prince (close Drake associate) returns to our story. He first posted a photo of him and West in October with the caption

    "Get ready for New Beginnings"

With Donda failing to outsell Certified Lover Boy resulting in another failed sabotage on Drake's rollout and now rumors of "Splash Brothers" Kanye became determined for a peace treaty. Even if that meant going across enemy lines and subjecting himself to something horrific. J Prince being the middle man in all this saw an opportunity of his own, with the combined efforts of both Drake and Kanye there was a possibility for the release of Larry Hoover (yeah that was payoff from earlier setup)

With Kanye at his mercy Prince would have the two record a video that has West begging and pleading for Drake to join him on stage for Larry Hoover. With J Prince heading up the joint operation Drake agreed. Without saying so much as a word Drake gave the thumbs down to French Montana who immediately pulled Splash Brothers from his album. For the first time in months Ye could finally sleep peacefully

Drake would post a picture of them together at a Dave Chapelle show on his Instagram. The beef was over and somewhere in a prison cell sat Larry Hoover with a devilish grin. All was proceeding as planned.

    amp.tmz.com/2021/11/16/kanye-west-drake-squash-beef-toronto-dave-chappelle-j-prince

With that done and to the world's surprise Drake showed up on stage with Kanye on December 9th during the Free Hoover concert ending the stan wars and fulfilling the prophecy with a classic performance. They finally got it jumpin' in Bordeaux.

Drake posts him and Kanye together on Instagram dated November 7th
    https://www.instagram.com/p/BMgbDTsjq1s/?hl=en

TMZ was the first to break the news that would be shot down by Drake and his team.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.tmz.com/2017/05/03/drake-porn-star-pregnant/

It's part of the story so I included it maybe it wasn't real but that has only remained a online conspiracy. No one that was involved in the situation has ever officially denied it's existence.

Ye reached out for a good reason but we will never know exact details. If we do get further developments on the story I will update op
