Yet everyone is doing it smh

I think the landscape has normalized a bit.

Chris will never not drop a long ass album again but aside from him and an artist here and there, it doesn’t seem to be too big of an issue at present

I think making your album too long is the easiest way to have your album written off

Nobody’s gonna go back and listen to it in its entirety enough to be completely satisfied.

No way a game album doesn’t get redundant and tired past the halfway mark

Most people dont listen to full albums anyways. They stick to the singles or songs they like. Not everyone is a music hipster that cares about sequencing and all that bullshit.

    I don’t think so..

The whole world looks out for albums from these artists…

Kanye, Weeknd, Travis, Kendrick, Drake, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé etc..

And when they don’t deliver, they hear about it and it affects them and their whole operation.

If nobody cared about albums like that, artists wouldn’t be putting effort into making them in the first place, gettin panned across these platforms by fans and apologizing and s*** when they suck.

Jack Harlow just heard about it from the world.. bet he and his label heard loud and clear

The only reason 14-18 songs is the "appropriate" album length, is because of CD space in the past. Otherwise its entirely arbitrary and up to the artist.

Most casual listeners themselves do care when its an artist they like as well

And even then its stupid as f*** to cater to casual listeners who come and go when you can form a solid core fam base by creating quality work

    blah blah blah.

This is like the 3rd or 4th album from Game thats over 20 songs.

If its a problem for you, then you weren't a fan to begin with. One of the best albums of his career is a double album.

Complaining about too much music is some of the dumbest s*** I ever seen.

the only albums that'll still be talked about 10, 20, 30+ years from now are the ones with the qualities listed above

Who gives a f*** about who listens to who? Especially if the music is good.

This guy is 20 years into his career. No one outside of Kanye and Wayne are still relevant from that class of rappers.

Both discs were still over 20 songs each, and they count as one album when it came to sales anyways.

Yeah, but he dropped them 1 week apart. No way people play 30 track albums front to back multiple times.

    It’s not arbitrary..

    Nothing in music is arbitrary.

Song length down to the chords are all by design

And those artists didn’t get to the level they’re at overnight.

They put out quality albums over the course of years from the starting point sometimes even at free mixtapes and eventually it led them to the top.

Regardless of how many people you think are listening to the albums, it’s a good amount and it’s important enough to put effort into making them good and worth talking about.

Album length has no bearing on album quality.

Game has dropped several dope "long albums" at this point.

Save this nonsense for another thread.

    It does..

Filler songs are inevitable which leads to mid albums

Having several of them to your name doesn’t make them any better

And I’ll post where I want. Quote somebody who actually thinks your lazy opinions sound smart
