• Ezra won’t be recast in this movie as the studio has already spent hundreds of millions on the movie and Ezra is in nearly every scene.
• The movie wouldn’t generate the revenues it needs to make back if it doesn’t go to theaters so streaming is not an option.
• One method they can do during release is not taking Ezra on the press tour or minimizing their presence on the press tour (e.g. Ansel Elgort and the West Side Story press tour). They would lean on Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.
• Some a***ysts have suggested that “the character itself is often a bigger star than the actor wearing the Lycra suit.”
• The studio doesn’t see the movie as a standard superhero origin film.
• It’s possible that by the June 2023 release date that Miller could get their act together and everything can proceed as normal.
• The studio is high on this movie.
