guessing it’ll be “multiplayer” in the way that nightreign is “co-op”, meaning we learn later that you can player single player
I hope miyazaki can clear things up with the interview tomorrow, and maybe alleviate worries. This entire direct had communication problems honestly, which is weird after Nintendo went through their most interesting, in depth showcase of their new hardware yet

This would be great, but skeptical since this can be up to 8 players and is inspired by Tarkov.
At the same time having the option to do a full single player campaign would also hurt since im never getting a switch 2. They better port this to PS if that’s the case lol
Then maybe he wanted to return to that world in this way? I don't think Nintendo forced him to make a multiplayer game, considering their past online infrastructures
If it’s only multiplayer mode, i’m not saying somebody forced him to, it’s been known Miyazaki is interested in multiplayer experimentation atm just that i don’t think that’s the type of game he would use to do a return to the BB universe. But yeah one more day til the interview where he clears some stuff up hopefully. Still think this is it’s own thing but it it ends up being a future/alternative Yharnam or some s*** ban me 4L

You’re good bro. They’re trying to will this extraction shooter into being bloodborne 2

I mean i get it tho we all were hype when we saw that first shot of the area in the trailer, Sony is a f*** up company for letting us starve like that
Weird that it's MP cause from the trailer and gameplay shots, it looked like you progressed thru the world, etc.
Maybe it's a co-op adventure, not survival oriented Nightreign.
Edit - read through some of the leaks, yeah, weird situation. Inspired by Tarkov, like wut
I don’t think this will be a spiritual successor to BB, it’s a vampire game and vampire stuff is usually set in victorian gothic cities.
There’s no way Miyazaki would do a spiritual successor to his personal favorite work and then make it an exclusive again, and not even a single player campaign at that too
I understand that it isn't a literal Bloodborne sequel or successor. What I'm saying is that the Bloodborne influence and references are definitely there. From the first shot in the trailer I immediately got a heavy Bloodborne vibe - as did most people who watched it. Then the From Software logo shows up and you find out it's directed by Miyazaki himself, as opposed some other company just making their own version of a Bloodborne-type game (like Lies of P).
The Duskbloods trailer gave me more Bloodborne vibes than any other game, and it seems most people were excited about the game for the aforementioned reasons - until they heard it was a multiplayer game and abandoned ship (their loss). I really liked what I saw and I'm looking forward to see more of the game.

its absolutely a spiritual successor lol
game has no trick weapons
has flying
has some weird vampire sucking thing
dinosaurs
and it's multiplayer
this game looks nothing like bloodborne
one clock tower and a moon doesn't make this bloodborne

That’s understandable i didn’t say it didn’t look like BB visually there’s def overlap because of the gothic setting and blood moon imagery but i feel like it’s gonna be such a different thing gameplay wise that people who are feeling this is gonna be like a BB 2 type game are gonna be let down but we’ll see
Personally i’m a fan of FS handcrafting single player experiences so i can really immerse myself in and explore the world and lore on my own pace

I would've preferred a single player experience/direct sequel to Bloodborne as well but I think this is definitely a game worth checking out in the meantime.
I'm honestly a bit baffled how fans of Bloodborne would not find this game at least intriguing enough to not completely dismiss because of its supposed multiplayer focus. Everybody hopped on the hype train until "multiplayer" was mentioned, which tells me that everyone could clearly see, enjoy and appreciate the Bloodborne influence and similarities, even referring to it as Bloodborne 2 or its spiritual successor.
Personally I am so glad that Bloodborne is getting some love and recognition, even if it's behind another name or in a slightly different format. Sony hasn't given a shiet about Bloodborne or its fans. I hope that one day they do, but I'm glad that From Software, Miyazaki and Nintendo took some Yharnam blood and surprised us with something new yet familiar that we could enjoy together for now.

For me it’s very simple, i’m not in the position to buy a console for 1 game. Especially if it’s gonna be for a multiplayer oriented one too. I’m still sad i won’t be able to play this if it doesn’t get a port bc i love everything by Miyazaki but yeah just can’t and won’t do that
bloodborne 2 confirmed never coming out.
playstation ceo too busy greenlighting 5 new live services
fromsoft next game being a nintendo exclusive was not on my bingo card
very excited to learn more about it, even tho I am not planning to buy switch2

Can you provide some more detail on the general gameplay loop?
The game has a so-called "hub" area, where players can choose their character, customize them and enter online multiplayer*. Online multiplayer supports up to 8 players. Upon concluding an online match, players then return to the hub, at which point they receive some sort of reward whether they win or lose. Using these rewards, players can further customize their character, and so the cycle continues.
Online matches are generally last player standing, however there are certain cases where victory conditions differ. For example, players may be tasked with teaming up to take down a powerful boss enemy, or find themselves in other special circumstances.

I think it actually sounds interesting tbh

So it’s Nightreign
