Doing my first listen right now. First 3 tracks are really good, I’m liking this.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts when you get around to it!

I wasn’t ducking you, but I listened to it today and boy oh boy was that a fantastic time! Each song had me floating! Pictures of you, love song, and the titular track stick out the most as well as untitled. I’m not tapped into 80’s/90’s grunge rock like that, but I’d love to see peak Bjork, Roxy music Brian Eno, and these guys in a room together

    Beautiful album

THE CURE’s ROBERT SMITH says he’s NOCTURNAL.

During an interview with Jo Whiley for BBC Radio 2 ahead of The Cure’s performance this past Wednesday (Oct. 30), frontman Robert Smith shared that he chooses to “live at night” and has even trained his sheep to do the same.

“I’ve got the only nocturnal sheep in Britain, seriously I’ve trained them to,” he said “I’m trying to train them because, apparently, you can’t train sheep but I’m determined. I’ve trained one of my sheep to shake hands, seriously! No honestly at night, I will probably post at some point before the end of the year another viral moment for me! I can’t get ‘em to talk but they do listen though, they’re very good listeners.”

He's just like me fr fr

To be frank, this is a bonafide late career classic. They dropped this just about 50 years into their career. Let that sink in.. The Cure as we know it. Lush & ethereal soundscapes, haunting lyrics. This is it.

Alone, I Can Never Say Goodbye & Endsong are among the best in their career.

This is the end of every song that we sing

Glad you enjoyed it! I think the Disintegration track is one of the best songs ever made. Plainsong as an opener is so magical too and immediately sets the tone.

The other posters were also right in recommending P***ography (the album). The debate is between Disintegration or P***ography being their magnum opus.

If you do decide to tap out here, I'm glad we had you along on this ride If not, I hope to see your P***ography (the album) thoughts.

Yeah man it really is, absolutely amazing stuff. Enjoying it more with every listen, been listening to it a lot today and I am right now again.

Yeah Alone is perfect, I Can Never Say Goodbye too.

Album feels minimalistic and maximalist at the same time, they really killed it with this one.

    My favorite album of 2024
