but do you think the comedy in this writing wise is worth championing for? Like I am honestly asking. To me the trailer wasn't funny but if you liked it I am all for it. We all have different humor. I just won't like this or support it out of desperation for comedy to come back alone. I do agree though I miss good comedy movies. This however comes across as tiktokish or twitter writing even before I knew it was based on a skit. Like it reminds me of You People writing

I watched it after the hype train its solid . Would have probably liked it better in theaters . I saw it blind at home. enjoyed it enough.

Menu was dope

Being aware of itself doesn't help the humor here to me . Like even though its self aware its again why I mentioned Velma delivery. I know this movie is aware and knows what it wants to be but from the trailer at least it doesn't work for me. I am not hating though as I said going from skit to major movie is dope.

Regardless of if I connect with humor or think title is too much . Cool to see a black creator go from skit to studio movie.

It hits different in a full theater

It underdelivered. Made it seem like it was gonna be some deep psychological thriller with a knives out esque twist and it never even stretched the surface of either of those expectations. N before u say so, the movie heavily hinted at those themes

But I think part of the point was playing with those expectations especially expectations of cannibalism when really it about something else entirely.
