May 27, 2025·1 replyI think this trend is a product of today's social media being flooded with posts of despicable behaviour from people who happen to be black, these posts then feed a racist algorithm where the viewer sees a selection of similar content and grows a distorted perception, not just of black people, but of the world.
I come across this on Instagram as well as Jew bashing, Arab bashing and other identity based nonsense. I presume the root is something innate, like tribalism. Instead of thinking critically, they put down the other group and feel better about their own group.
Not to play chicken or egg with this, I believe a major factor is how social media amplifies this bias and further warps peoples sense of reality. It's pretty scary and saddening that this trend and similar trends are on the rise.
