I think Cicero will be a major agent of narrative in season 3

The way I see it, he is the continued manifestation of Carl’s s***ty family dynamic and the traumatic mindset he found them in

He DOES want to see Carm succeed, but at the end of the day he will tear down the restaurant and the lot if he has to, and his demand for Carm’s full attention and disapproval of Claire’s entrance kinda reinforces Donna’s mindset where it’s like “if good things happen to me and they might detract from providing to the people I love, then I don’t deserve good things.”

Richie’s present to him may be a major change in Cicero’s own mindset though. I remain eager.

It’s like this sick and twisted interest where every episode feels like a “bad night” where it feels like everything f***ed up cuz you miss a plate or two or whatever but you really just had a ridiculously good night because of how busy it was. Kinda missing the forest for the trees u feel. We’ve all had those nights and this show just feeds into that mindset in a beautiful dark twisted fantasy (no joke)

The episode Fishes is actually hard to watch, and not because of the restaurant industry stuff but because of my own history. Took me three sittings and I could barely stomach it. Phenomenal writing

This show had me sitting down and thinking to myself

It has me relaying “yes chef no chef” in the kitchen

It has me conscious of the volatility in the business and my abusive love for it
