all his life he idolized him even during his darkest hours in the late 70s when he ran away from him he cried about not living up to phil spector

The Motown musician crew was harder the Funk Brothers were all packing in the event of Barry Gordy or whoever else wanting to stiff them of their pay. Standing In The Shadows Of Motown is a great documentary.

tbh ive always been team Funk Brothers but the last year has me possibly leaning more toward the Wrecking Crew at least for '61-'66
