    Is Pet Sounds the greatest album OAT?

    And is it the first concept album ever?

    necessary tag even tho i’ve never seen him post once
    @petsounds

    It is, at least one of them.

    It also has one of the worst covers ever.

    this video is great covering the covers and this episode in particular touching on the pet sounds and gives you context in how out of touch even back then it was

    but at least it put the San Diego zoo even more on the map

    elton talks again about that night with brian

    it’s a shame he only tells this story to make brian come off even more crazy and not how much he’s a fan or wrote some songs he wanted them to sing but wtv

    I wanted this song to feel like a Beach Boys song with a Can song being played on top of it

    inspired by:

    (thanks @MORPHE)

    and on the new album, they even go out and sample the boys on this song:

    the chat during the intro is taken from this demo at the start and also when they talk at the end of it too:

    @Yolko @deepsleep @xenons @sfsorrow

    Hella deep. I've listened to all of their albums up til Beach Boys Love You(which I love) and have skimmed through their material past that. Seems as though they never recovered artistically though

    I also fw some of their solo projects(especially Pacific Ocean Blue)

    The only projects that are essential IMO are Today, Pet Sounds, Smile Sessions, Lofi Trilogy (Smiley Smile/Wild Honey/Friends) and Sunflower. Also, the Sounds of Summer compilation.

    What do you think of this? Check out the whole thing.

    The original Surf's Up is incredible but the released version is flawed. Holland is overrated and Love You is an acquired taste.

    brother won’t even acknowledge so tough

    haha yeah love you is definitely a special listen, but it’s as brian as it gets and i wouldn’t have that any other way -

  • Nov 23, 2020

    however i will say as much as i love surfs up it’s not top 3 due to the simple fact they let mike love put that student song in it

    i hate that song 😣

    It's not worth being acknowledged If Pet Sounds is a beautiful oil painting, Love You is the same but done with crayons. And I mean that in the most loving way possible.
