    BRO same what if we were at the same show

    man i was SO HAPPY he parted ways with jeff foskett at that time (the big dude who does the falsetto singing) and matt jardine (yes he’s al jardine’s son) took over the role, his falsetto is so much more authentic n pure, when he sang don’t worry baby

    but man hearing this whole album live was something out of this galaxy... the fact they have al the instruments live to reproduce it and nothing is left out or a loop, wow, i could feel the album in another way... there’s nothing that can explain or makes sense of how that album sounds and why it does so

    also having blondie chaplin on stage thot id never see that what did they perform for you outside of pet sounds? bc they switched the rarities set quite a bit on that, they often altered between songs from sunflower - surf’s up and friends

    i remember al jardine did wake the world, was blown away sounded so tight

    also briefly met one of the percussionist afterwards and bought the pet sounds bomber jacket got to meet n talk with so many stans and that truly made the experience even more special

    the ā€œglassā€ (?) noises that appears on the chorus of the hard way song sounds like a sample and that was in like 1973 blown away

    if you want some WEIRD s*** maybe try smiley smile haha

    Robert Kirby who arranged strings on Nick Drake’s album Bryter Layter:

    The instrumentals were his (Nick Drake) idea and inspired by Pet Sounds

    @Womanpuncher69

    always felt like this song is some proto punk, the attack in dem verses goes hard

    in fact brian had to insist onto carl to use some fuzz on his guitar - this was before fuzz was hot

    @Elric @passing_the_time what u think?

    its way back in the mix compared to say Think For Yourself on Rubber Soul but ill give it to you only Dave Davies was doing things like that in '64

    even the energy the fact it holds onto that chord and how the right hand plays and vocals comes in, don’t mean to exaggerate but i def hear ramones on that

    ā€œā€˜Little Honda’ was my biggest excitement record of the early sixties. This track was so exciting that even the best of them would agree.ā€

    -Brian in the liner notes for The Beach Boys Party/Stack-O-Tracks twofer

    Came in to say how much I love this CD so good thing I could work that in. I thought ā€œexcitement recordā€ was an interesting term and could lend itself to what you’re talking about.

    The twofer is so much fun tho, Party is underrated. Barbara Ann is exhilarating, a top 5 hit and an enduring classic with no production. I’m generally partial to the ballads but this rocker is tough to beat. 3 Beatles covers and a Dylan cover too. Then the instrumentals of many classics, one of a kind listen, it’s a must own imo

    brian with the vision always ahead of his times wether it be surf, pet sounds that doesn’t even land in any category, punk, or the moog synths all over love you yet always misunderstood

    šŸ¤—šŸ¤— barbara ann is ear candy, it relays all on the hook it’s just fascinating to me how that record was label fabricated so they could work on pet sounds and it just happened to have this song which is probably one of their biggest hits oat lol they weren’t even trying, like not even in the slightest, it’s some fake party themed album! that’s insane in hindsight

    @Bad_Finger_Boogie i know has this twofer too, i was having a joke t it bc its funny to have this twofer of all twofers

    love the photos for it

    brian can be seen with his wife with whom he got two daughters with (who are great singers and i believe had a hit record in the us in the 90s)

    al jardine (the pro folk dude of the band) sings the dylan cover, beautifully so @Lawdie posted it once praising it 😌

    my fav is the beatles cover with dennis singing tho, dennis voice is incredible and makes it that i like it over the original lol

    stack o stack is dope and a miracle for fans to have fun doing edits with! someone tried to do a ā€œloveā€ album out of it but felt too close to the blueprint of what the beatles did, need to be more of its own thing and of bbs legacy
