one time i f***ed up hard tho and passed on a vinyl that was a bundle of holland and pet sounds released in 1973 i was it was another cheap capitol release so i was like im good i already own them both separately only to find out later after some research’s that this pressing countained a new mono mix of pet sounds that is the best and most faithful one to what brian wanted and hasn’t been reused or rereleased since then, that mono mix can only be found on that pressing, still hate myself to this day

here’s my favorite bbs - beatles story

on the white album ringo left the band for a period bc of tensions so paul ended up doing some of the drums on several tracks which is why you hear some bonkus drums on it that are unlike anything ringo which is known for his very simple style

one is ofc back in the ussr a song that was made during their trip to india where mike love was too, and that is heavily bbs inspired with those harmonies

and so ringo did get his revenge on that song, with the bbs: by being invited on their massive 4th of july show in 1984

he stayed to play bunch of other songs too, and even got on their 1985 album to lay some drums on one of the songs

brian gave him back the favor by bringing some vocals harmonies on one of ringos solo album

If there is one person that I have to select as a living genius of pop music, I would choose Brian Wilson. Without Pet Sounds, Sgt. Pepper wouldn't have happened. Pepper was an attempt to equal Pet Sounds.
