not sure if it ever happened in this thread (there's no debate to be had anyway), just if you know a lot about music of that era then you will know that whole story already. just personally not a conversation im interested in having and reading about again and again and again

again, if you cant show exactly what posts you think are totally dismissive turning off newcomers then idk. no one was dismissing the actual topic afaik just the fact that its completely off topic and dude that brought up rip offs was just trolling. and defending the beach boys themselves against claims of being blatant rip off artists doesn't mean anyone is discounting the fact that Surfin USA was a direct reference, and a bigger hit than Chuck Berry songs because they were white and more palatable to white audience. i just think you may have been misinterpreting if you took it as anyone dismissing the racism in society vs black artists

btw not really trying to argue or anything didnt mean for posts to be long theres no disagreement

those are trippy in a good way even tho its darker, idk kinda hard to explain. Fire is less bad-trippy for me because its expected to be a bit darker, while Wind Chimes is a lighter song so that part sounds like creepy surreal twisted lightness. the jarring-ness of the loud parts of Wind Chimes are the one part that isn't absolutely perfect to me

its something that bothered me more at first though, now i love the whole thing including the loud part

IIRC @Elric prefers the Smiley Smile version of Wind Chimes

I don't disagree with you but the energy was def on some let's not have that convo...

Just cuz y'all know or don't want to read about it again and again and again doesn't mean others do so that alone is a huge turn-off to newcomers imo
