btw @EyesOnTheSmile @DonutHole by the time of holland - in order to rebrand the band through the seventies, both ricky fataar (drummer) and blondie chaplin (singer guitarist songwriter) had joined the line up

they were in the band the flames, from south africa

they played in london once when carl was visiting and saw them and asked them to join, signed them to the beach boys label and produced their great underrated slept on album

so when they joined the bbs, they brought their talents to the band: for example blondie is the lead on sail on sailor (brians song) but also brought his own songs with leaving this town and many more

one of my fav from that line up, by blondie contribution is this one, the most un beach boys song ever, with great drums by ricky, from the album so tough:

do you always listen to the entire discography of artists you like if they have a huge one?

feel like maybe i should but idk, sometimes i just lose interest once i start going through a bunch of albums that are just "okay" with no real gems. like latter day rolling stones albums as an example

gonna revisit So Tough this week cuz ik you like it a lot but when i originally listened i kinda hated it ngl

was my least favorite beach boys album until i heard summer in paradise lol

yes even if some i don’t like but im interested in the lore or just want to dive into more knowledge, if they’re curious or part of pop culture or whatever

like i know obscure albums from artists i don’t even like or care for, some even ihate

but the more you know the more you can use it as an argument - never speak about what you don’t know!
