It’s essentially its own universe. Sure you can say you’re populating that universe later on, but even then he’ll still prob force Gotham to be isolated. DC should be worried about other stuff than more character crossovers anyways

Robert Pattinson ( #Batman ) recently flew from New York to an unknown location. So it's possible he went to L.A. and had this DC meeting with James Gunn today. Robert just returned to the US now, so it's possible that he and James just got together now.

WB was just doing things right with DC, but now wanna risk everything again by creating a cinematic universe with James Gunn.

They dont have to do what Marvel did. Honestly I'm sick of the idea of cinematic universes

I trust Reeves so whatever he does I’m mostly down with. If this is an agreement that’s like “you can populate MY universe” then that’s fine. But if it’s Gunn trying to take Batman to serve the same function as Affleck or input ideas on what Battinson is gonna do then that could escalate once again

The idea of throwing together a shared universe for the sake of it will never work for DC. That’s how we got to the current s*** show. It’s not a coincidence that the two creators who’ve succeeded at DC Studios in recent years made sure to stay far away from universe s***

I'll stay optimistic about incorporating Battinson in to the DCU because of the fact that ReevesVerse is dark, gritty and serious.... so I'd assume Gunn wants projects in the DCU to have that same vibe

Absolutely. He was pretty clear early on that he was only doing these movies if he had full creative control

So best case scenario...Reeves gets to finish his trilogy exactly how he wants. And Battinson will also show up in Justice League films and DC films that have a serious tone

I’ve always said that the number one thing DC has to do with Gotham and Metropolis is establish them as two different cities with vastly different feels.

Gotham has already been established as this dark, grimey, crime ridden place where The Batman watches over.

In contrast Metropolis should be a bustling, well metropolis, full of life and color.

I think if The Batman is incorporated into a wider universe, they should and will do just that. Let Matt do what he wants with what’s going on in Gotham, Metropolis and most of the rest of the DCU should feel different.

Batman shows up in Justice League movies, and when Matt wraps up his trilogy and they decide to keep Gotham in play in the DCU it’s already there.

I don’t think the universe is gonna go for 10 years then reboot. They’re in it for the long run

Yea I'm really hoping they go all out with the designs for Metropolis.
I'd like to see them take some inspiration from Superman The Animated Series and go for more unique architecture. They should take The Batman route and design a city that doesn't just look like NYC or Chicago.

God yeah I LOVE how Metropolis looked in this series.

I really hope they take that route with this new universe. Because especially in the Nolan films it was like "oh that's NY or Chicago"
