Went on sale near me and these are the program notes:

Rare 70mm blow-up print with six-track magnetic sound not screened locally since 1989

    --

Filmed in 35mm Panavision by Roger Pratt and enlarged to 70mm for select first-run engagements in 1989, a common practice in the ‘80s for major studio releases.

    Programming Note:
This original release print uses a vintage magnetic soundtrack. Audio tracks are stored on magnetic stripes attached to the film print itself and are more prone to degrade than optical soundtracks. It will sound louder and richer compared to most 35mm prints and many digital sound systems, but because it is an older a***og format, you will also hear the wear and tear of its many years going through projectors. Every hiss, softness, pop, intermittent silence and visual imperfection is part of the experience and a reminder that you are watching the exact same print many audience members saw projected across the country almost 40 years ago.

Lots of 35mm and 70mm prints used these days have digital audio and this seems like it'll attempt to use its original soundtrack. Might hamper sound but still will be a unique experience. They're doing this for Aliens too it seems

kinda interesting that they have to point out the age related wear-and-tear of the audio track. would have just assumed that people already knew that the audio wasn't going to be in tiptop shape.

also interesting that the print screenings you've been to use digital audio. im fairly certain that all the screenings for 35mm/70mm prints i've went to in the past couple years were using the a***ogue audio

It might depend on the screening, and maybe i misspoke but it could just be for literal new releases (or new prints of old films). Local news did a story on a theater that was running OBAA in 70mm and a projectionist showed how the projection booth worked and for that studio sent in a cd with digital audio that aligns with the print. For older ones I've been to, they mighta been a***og.

The sound might be worn down more than some expecting. Sometimes they need to just note it for the folks who will overreact so that they can show they communicated any potential problems lol.

damn that's kinda weird since i saw GDT's Frankenstein on 35mm and I know for a fact that it was a***og audio since the audio pitch would go high every time there was a reel change and the voices would sound like chipmunks lol

now im going to have to pay closer attention to the audio from now on

Did anyone see fans theorizing the 8:12am post?

    • Detective Comics #812: City of Crime arc - Bruce Wayne attends a gala for the Waterfront Reclamation Project intended to aid low-income residents after a disaster hit Gotham. Wayne infiltrates Crown Point exposing a vast network of corruption, human trafficking, and supernatural elements that threaten Gotham's foundation.

    • Batman #8-12: City of Owls (the exact issues of the second half of Court of Owls arc)

Obviously could also be meaningless, but that #812 is oddly specific to elements of events that are already happening in Reevesverse. It even notes Crown Point which is where Penguin took place and where the flood wiped out entire developments. Both have "City of ___" too

Feel like Reeves has been pretty intentional with tweets to at least entertain ideas

When The Batman Part II becomes the greatest Batman sequel, soon

Nah its not happening lmao. I meant that Gunn said their would be one a long ass time ago and still nothing.

i mean it's all under DC Studios, think he was referring to the intro thing not being the Superman one (as that is supposed to signify DCU?)

Pretty sure people are looking too deeply into what was the normal lines repeated from trades where they list cast

They never quoted WB as confirming a cast, they said WB spoke of the film and then the article inserted cast members themselves

He’s prob in it at some point but WB did not actually say there from my understanding. Reeves isn’t gonna voluntarily let info out it seems

So weird. I was just thinking earlier about the Selina-Annika storyline, and the Penguin Eve + her girls storyline and wondering how they would do Ivy.

The info about Scarjo Poison Ivy is from a Reddit source. The vetting on the source doesn’t really add up. The info about ScarJo being Ivy can’t be ruled out though.

This person also tried to scoop on SW info but that’s very far out so. Undetermined

    Here’s where I question it

There was another rumor a few days ago about a Poison Ivy spinoff. I’m not sure if Scarlett would do a streaming show spinoff.

Now if that’s wrong I think the possibility of her being a version of Ivy is stronger.

Seeing the success of the Penguin she might. I think that show is strong, it would need her tbh.

I think everything should just be taken with a grain. Though DCULeaks mods allowed the post after reviewing his evidence themselves. They saw something worthy of letting to stay

Regardless of whether they got the character right, there seems to be a closing of the loop as to what kind of role ScarJo has in the film. This Ivy rumor doesn't leave me with that different of a theory than if she was Phantasm.

Lots of misdirections are being thrown in Reeves fashion

  • The reason I'm not really surprised is that its abundantly clear ScarJo is playing a significant role and obviously Poison Ivy could fill that comfortably.

Remember, Emma Stone was circled first. Scarlett gives Andrea/Phantasm but Emma never quite did imo which was a lingering point of doubt for me. Ivy tho? Absolutely for both. And its an opportunity I can see Scarlett chasing like she was said to have done

This is coming right after the show rumor too...which Sneider got from the same (seemingly HBO) source that gave him Grodd casting and V for Vendetta news. They specifically told him to hold back on the real story of it all

Vsaz would still be never done before or court of owls. But to me Poison Ivy as a main villain after all that would be crazy

Phantasm has red hair too though
