AshTheRobotI would agree with wanting Pattinson being able to work in the DCU.
But another thing that Gunn is trying to establish is the entire BatFamily already being a thing.For me it’s not just the “Fantastical” Batman that I want.
But Gunn’s Batman is suppose to revolve around the father and son dynamic of Bruce and Damian. With other members of the Bat Family being involved.
We’re also getting that Jason and D*** animated movie, which I believe is gonna be in universe.I think the ship has already sailed for Battison to have the BatFamily involved.
To me, getting a Gotham where we already have Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Robin, Batgirl, Batwoman, Batwing, etc. established is something we haven’t seen before on screen(I can’t imagine we’re getting everyone I listed, but still).
That’s something we’ve NEVER seen in film before, and something I thought we’d never see.Just getting a Batman that has the whole BatFamily, AND the comic book-y villains just excites me more than the Battison films continuing.
I still want The Batman 2, and think they can co exist. But I’m not interested in wait for this till 2030 lolThis is the point that makes the most sense as to why Pattinson shouldn't be in the DCU. If we're operating under the assumption that the full Bat Family exists, then picking up with him after The Batman and we have 2 Robins, a Batgirl, Batwoman, Nightwing, etc. would be unrealistic without a massive time jump. That I don't see happening.
I would harbor to guess that if we get Pattinson, we won't get the Bat Family in the first film. If we don't they can all exist.
Now if Gunn says f*** it and JK Simmons him into the DCU (same character, different variant) then that's the best of both worlds but that is ALL up to Rob lmao

Gunn has pretty much killed any hopes of Pattinson being the DCU Batman so I think the DCU Batman will be something completely different.
Matt is great at what he does. It's just unfortunate how slow his creative process is.

Im referring more to how like the overlap is what’s going to end up confusing
I think we all thought that both iterations would be a lil more spaced out but the way Matt’s moving it’ll either slow down the DCU version or end up confusing bc they’ll be being made near the same time
