The owner of Cedar Meats, Tony Kairouz, was a member of the Labor Party for 24 years. The company also previously donated a large sum of money to the Labor Party.

Other states used troops and/or police to guard quarantine hotels.

It’s why the second wave originated from within those ethnic communities. They had trouble understanding the government’s communication. Many ethnic groups have complained about this eg. the South Sudanese Community Association.

Thanks for not providing a source like I asked and making me go through endless Murdoch and Packer media You're asserting that because Tony Kairouz donated ~15k to the Labor Party six years ago it means he has direct agency over the actions and policies of the Labor government in a pandemic? I agree that it’s not a good look but I don't quite think there's enough (or really even anything) here to indicate government malpractice. Plus I haven’t a clue as to why you think the government tried to cover this outbreak up, cause everyone and their dog knew about it.

Other states used troops and/or police to guard quarantine hotels.

This is really the only point I can agree on. That being said, I believe it’s a lazy thought process to absolve any fault from the handful of terrible security guards. I have mates that worked as seccys in one of the hotels without outbreak, and although some instructions changed from day to day depending on supervisors, along with lagging top-down and bottom-up communication between the guards and the DHSS, the core instructions were clear enough that it would take an idiot to f*** it up. Unfortunately idiots demonstrably exist. It’s logically shared blame.

I can see why this would be a problem but honestly articles on this seem to be scarce except for one or two from sites like dailymail and this ABC soundbite. I looked up “South Sudanese Community Association”, “South Sudanese Community Association covid 19”, etc. on both Google and DuckDuckGo, but I can’t seem to find much substantial. Unless I’m missing something obvious then it’s either unsubstantial and somewhat insignificant or simply “hidden” by the media. Looking up “covid 19 victoria ethnic outbreak” brings more general articles about ethnic communities and how they have dealt with it. As far as I understand, there has actually been a decent amount of effort put into this on a lot of fronts, from ethnic community leaders disseminating, to tonnes of language translations from government, to door knockers to provide information to at risk areas. Could the state government have done more? Probably, but in theory more can always be done. I wouldn’t be so quick to blame them.

If you’re using sites like news dot com as sources, you really ought to expand your media consumption beyond packer stokes and murdoch. Because anyone who wasn’t born yesterday can see where their agenda lies.
I’d believe the article if it didn’t read like bullshit: “Government sources
”, “
privately urged
”, etc. But I don’t actually understand the main point you’re trying to make or solidify with it, because the article seems to go all over the place.

yea i am not going to defend Andrews for that hotel quarantine even tho i do like him and he has being copping too much s*** from Murdoch

honestly their is nothing else to add about what happened what happened and we always ran risk in getting another wave which would be deadly (see the Spanish influenza)

I know you probably think it’s cool to let everyone know you’re a Greens supporter who hates Murdoch media, but quite frankly I didn’t ask, and I really don’t care.

Did you just conveniently ignore the part where I said he was a member of the Labor Party for 24 years? Someone who has that strong an association to a party is naturally likely to receive preferential treatment from them, especially when the party is a corrupt one like Labor.

The Andrews government never proactively informed the public that Cedar Meats was the abattoir at the centre of Victoria’s first outbreak. They tried to keep its name a secret, until the information was eventually leaked to the media and Cedar Meats themselves had to come forward and inform the public. In the mean time, truck drivers and other external stakeholders were still interacting with Cedar Meats, not knowing they were at risk of infection. Even the employees weren’t told to get tested until weeks after the first confirmed case.

Seems like I’ve refuted most of your points and you’re resorting to ad hominems. Following your lead on the latter:

I know you probably think it’s cool to let everyone know you’re a Greens supporter who hates Murdoch media, but quite frankly I didn’t ask, and I really don’t care.

F*** up you assumptive dropkick I don’t like the greens either. I only favour them to the extent that power is decentralised from the false dichotomy that we have.

...They tried to keep its name a secret, until the information was eventually leaked to the media and Cedar Meats themselves had to come forward and inform the public...

I didn’t ignore it, I didn’t see how it meant anything significant. You’ve illustrated why you think it’s significant here, but you’re delusional to think it’s not reading a bit like tinfoil bullshit. You’re talking so much s***, building mountains of claims out of molehills of evidence. I would truly LOVE to know more about how they tried to hide the outbreak but I can’t believe a word out of your gimp mouth at face value.

You’re spotlighting Labor as a corrupt party, but I hope you understand they’re all f***ed and corrupt mate.

    I sourced news . com . au...

I would happily pay money to see an article that proves your claims correct so I can restore my ability to not assume internet strangers morons as you’re ensuring I do from now on. I haven’t “conveniently ignored” anything, I searched what I could think of and asked where you’re getting this information from. I read it and still stand by what I said - neither you or me were there behind closed walls so we don’t know s***. If you think that sounds like tinfoil bullshit, here’s another point – it was only a one day delay from this first communication. Perfect? No, but not exactly massive.

Just like how you’ve conveniently ignored the myriad of articles that come up when you google “Dan Andrews ethnic”...

In that same linked clip they literally repeat what I said before about the government sending people door to door to inform people of what’s going on. What more can you ask for? Maybe you should read some of this myriad you’ve found

None of these are simple facts, this s*** is like a schizophrenic detective’s corkboard with strings all over. I assure you I know how to use search engines and technology in general better than your gettyimages arse ever will, but I’m not going to spend hours going through articles to see if some kpop fetishist f***wit on the internet is correct about their simple opinions on complicated issues. The ban on elective surgeries wasn’t delayed by a day, it was delayed by a week. Dan Andrews was advised to take action last week, he failed to act. Then the aged care facility outbreaks exacerbated, that’s why ScoMo had to follow up Monday this week. But Andrews should have been more proactive in the first place, rather than waiting to be told to take action.

Which clip are you referring to? Because it’s certainly not the ABC clip I linked.

You haven’t refuted any of my points. You haven’t brought up a single rebuttal that disproves any of my points. You saying “I don’t understand” or “I don’t see the significance” of something isn’t a rebuttal, it’s an admission of your own ignorance.

I’ve very clearly elucidated each and every one of my points and provided sources like you asked me to. If you still don’t understand them by now, then that’s a YOU problem. But you don’t seem to understand a lot of things, I’m starting to notice. You obviously have trouble processing even the simplest of information.

If a state government fails in ensuring the health and wellbeing of its own citizens, then the blame is on the government, especially when the rest of the state governments in the country had no such trouble when faced with the same task. This is a perfectly fair, reasonable and measured assessment of the situation. Only a bootlicker could consider this to be a “loud claim.”
