I wouldn’t be surprised if we had another lockdown if the hospital system couldn’t handle the pressure of all the COVID patients in care, at that point I don’t see why you would have an issue with lockdowns when its to protect the health care system, I want to be out of lockdowns permanently but its not as simple as just acting like its over when its not

so we could have been open and just locked down if our hospitals were at capacity then this would have made more sense than the having the longest strictest lockdown on the planet.

its a terrible strategy if you admit now that we're gonna have to live with it anyway. most of the world been living with it for a year already.

the strategy should have been to vaccinate and protect our most vulnerable (the elderly and immunocompromised), invest more into heath care (more beds, ventilators, etc.) and just maintained normalcy instead of locking down every time there was a case. the damage is has done has been worse than the virus economically, spiritually, mentally, etc.

The strategy you said is whats happening, the most vulnerable are being vaccinated, and Victoria tripled its ICU capacity to deal with the stress to be put on the health care system, the road map and projections showed that hospitals will still likely become overwhelmed by the amount of cases because this virus is still going to be around and harmful to the unvaccinated and you can’t just let the same people you’re praising today die because they’re unvaccinated with the virus without necessary hospital care
