The jobkeeper / seeker reductions are so f***ing stupid
not really
the most surprising part about it is that it still isn't means tested
Can’t blame them one bit man
People are quitting jobs to get on it, it’s too good
no one is quitting their job to go on the dole lol
you cant be unemployed and on jobKEEPER
Last semester at Uni I genuinely didnt show up for or read any of the lectures or seminars and I still had a good semester
Way too easy to pass, I think this ones gonna be a bit tougher, already is cause I have to attend one of my classes

jobseeker is barely above the poverty line tbh
doubt that's a big issue
the big issue with jobkeeper is eligible casuals getting overpayed, according to scomo the grub despite them spending significantly less on jobkeeper than they projected
the miscalculation was in the tens of billions so even then the excuse is a bit flimsy

i guess they were trying to increase demand in the economy by giving everyone the same amount to spend
i guess they were trying to increase demand in the economy by giving everyone the same amount to spend
yeah I don't have an issue with it, in fact I'd like them to keep the supplement as is but was just saying if they were serious about people getting overpayed being a problem then they should means test people to see if they met the threshold.
hearing they're pushing forward tax cuts for high income earners despite the cuts to jobkeeper and jobseeker so it's clear this is all political. they miscalculated by $60bn so I think they can afford to keep it going. shocking that people in the arts and uni staff don't get support.
these talks about being fiscally conservative and austerity being important in times like this is ridiculous and all spin for election time.

The general idea was to get money out the door quickly (no paperwork or significant involvement of the ATO) in an attempt to support consumption and employment
That’s alright for a time but isn’t really palatable long term. Hence the reduction and from what I understand a full / part time distinction (which stops short of proper means testing)
say your saying they defund the ABC a free to air TV which in my opinion provide some of the best shows on tv (Four Corners, Q&A)
But gave 10 million dollars to a Murdoch owned company, which people have to subscribe to (25% population have foxtel) not free to air and they don't pay a single dollar in tax
all for supporting women sports but this isnt it
Not even Australian owned company
my household dumped foxtel last year because their the biggest crooks
only pay 25 month to watch the footy

apparently in the country you can watch sky news through WIN channel
