maybe stressed is the wrong word but who wants to deal with lockdowns and all this s*** for another year? its f***in s***house mate
i dont think people in Australia realise how absolutely f***ed the country is in terms of it's medium-long term future in a business/trade and cultural context
the vic gov have suddenly twigged that they're going to lose the Aus Open, about the only sense of urgency I've seen
we're inconvenient to deal with in the first place, this just puts us firmly in the too hard basket.
we've got it good here tho. lockdown was ass but we're doing way better england. most of the Australian population aren't convinced by the vax tbh

we were the envy of the world up until about Feb but since that point I firmly disagree "we've had it good" because as usual Australia(ns) can only see what's in front of them with no scope for the bigger picture
the rest of the world is almost done with this, and accepting of the fact that your probability of getting COVID is 1, so get vaccinated and get vaccinated quickly for both your own and other's sake
is the UK opening up too early - yeah probably they are, granted i dont follow it super closely. but their general idea is sound in that there is a point where the risk appetite has to be determined by the individual and not the state.
the main problem with Australia's approach now is that there's no incentive to do anything because a 'circuit breaker' will bail you out. so we're stuck in a cycle where covid zero is the goal but long-term very little ground is made in exiting the pandemic which has to happen at some point
the fact you can still get labor at 2.20 in the next election is honestly an indictment on their inability to ram home how poorly things have been managed at a federal level
nah mate australia and nz covid response is cooked now plus housing is f***ed everywhere except darwin and wellington. f*** that
could see a stint in the uk on the cards late next year just to clear my head, aus is 100% the most stressful place in the western world to live right now
Housing prices in Auckland are ridiculous 😩
