the high school he went to was an old mansion that was converted to a school. the rumor was that the daughter of the mansion's owner hung herself in the third floor hallway and the school was haunted.

one day after basketball practice my dad was shooting around in the gym with his buddies and talking about whether or not the building was actually haunted. during the conversation my dad said "ghosts? take that!" and threw the ball at the backboard. He says as soon as the ball hit the backboard all of the lights in the building went out and everyone sprinted out of the gym.
