Imma be honest the game is very heavy on cutscenes. It doesn’t exactly slow down but it opens up a lot more during chapter 4 and from there on afterwards. The map gets bigger, substories (side quests), mini games, and the jobs system open up and things are added to the combat like summons and more party members (so more options in combat). The story is really interesting but if you can’t stand the cutscenes I’d prob drop the game after at least getting to chapter 4/5.
