Dec 11, 2020noisySmash community is a joke, but I'll always respect the good parts of competitive smash. I'm surprised people still want Melee to keep going after two decades, it already peaked and there's not as much interest in the game for people to keep figuring it out still. Even if I want people to move on from that scene, there's no doubt it's s***ty of Nintendo to cancel tournaments like that. It's like if they cancelled Mario 64 livestreams for playing with glitches and on an emulator.
It really does seem Nintendo just wants the community to move on from Melee honestly. And I'm not surprised. Like you said it's been two decades. Two decades of people using the same 6-8 characters, on the same 4-6 stages, with no items, and pretty much exposing every glitch and bug Nintendo left in that game in tournaments. Most of the devs probably pissed just seeing the s*** at this point
