First thoughts on the album; I’ll preface this by saying I’m a longtime fan, since 2014 and I’m from pretty much the same area as the band, and similar in age (not like it matters, but with the way the album was first described, “Late night driving on the m25” I get exactly where Matty is coming from.)

The back half of the album for me is by far my favourite, currently. As good as a songwriter Matty can be, him and George are far superior producers, and the work they put in on the early EP’s, ILIWYS title track and their collection of orchestral arrangements throughout the band’s releases, as well as that Robbers remix @ parklife 2017 ( ) are what I love to hear most from them. With tracks like Having No Head, Shiny Collarbone, What Should I Say (being a particular favourite, ) Bagsy Not In Net, etc.. Pretty much every track bar the final two and after Me and You Together Song... I was blown away.

This is just first listen thoughts - I’m sure I’ll warm to the first half of the album as listens go by, and I did enjoy mostly all the singles pre-released which take up a good portion of the first half of Notes, however right now Then Because She Goes was one of the only real highlights for me.

Can’t wait to play this s*** again and find more favourites 💕

I’ve been waiting 1.3 years for this album Since they kept pushing it back. I feel bad it leaked but all albums leak.

Dude this is literally my exact opinion, 100% spot on actually.

The second half is the best stuff they have ever made, but imo the first half is the worst material they have made.

It's definitely 50/50

don’t totally hate these guys like some people do, but goddamn, they just don’t seem like the type of musical act that can hold my attention for an 80-minute album
