I never said you should actively be against what the kid is feeling. But they should be a certain age before they make the final decision. If you think a kid has the full understanding of what gender they are before they experienced hormones suck my d*** from the back. Theres such a thing as being progressive and having common sense.

Idc what age people are doing the surgery. It's what age they should. As people are making very poorly thought out decisions for the sake of being open minded without thinking about the repercussions. And no the absolute cut off doesnt need to be 18 necessarily. But I think you mature and change alot between being a child and an adult. So you should let them go through that before they change their lives forever

You literally just made a whole post talking about how we need to wait before they hit 18 before they make "a final decision" so yes, you do care what age they are doing the surgery and no medical practitioner is administering the surgery before the age of 18. You know what's a life altering decision? when a transgender kid kills themselves because of wannabe progressives like you who openly undermine their autonomy and ability to understand what theyre feeling in regards to themselves. there is a reason transgender suicide rates are so high. by telling these kids they can't make a decision in regards to literally something that has been socially constructed for them since birth, you are reinforcing a culture that bullies them, silences them, and forces them to suppress themselves.

I never specified a specific age. Being an adult is more than what year you turn 18. There are lots of people over 25 that I wouldnt consider adults. However it doesnt really work the other way. Children's brains aren't fully developed the younger you go. This person hasnt fully grown mentally or physically, yet I should let them fully make this life altering decision. Most people would let you change your child's gender before you give them the keys to drive themselves to school. There's something missing here lmao.

You could make this same argument for a lot of things kids want. It's not always in their best interest. There are historically high rates of suicides for transgenders who also regret what theyve done. Because people are so willing to be opened minded they forget that this person might not be mature enough to handle this decision yet.

I also have never said they should be discouraged from wanting to be who they are. But that final decision changes their lives. It is up to the parent to know when their child has matured to that point. But I'm suggesting they at least go through puberty first.

You change so much from a toddler to an adult through your worldview and what you want. It isn't responsible to let a kid decide who they are for sure when they still go to recess. Most people arent really sure who they are for alot of their life. Again you dont discourage them, but you gotta wait until you know they're prepared for that life.

Literally just try to imagine yourself in the shoes of a transgender child/a child experiencing gender dysphoria. Imagine how you would feel if some individual, like yourself right now, completely removed from the situation who will face no immediate consequences from any of it, tried to tell you that you can't make a decision regarding your life. to just wait. maybe not even till youre 18 and legally an adult. but till 25, when "your brain is more developed." Imagine being 5 years old and experiencing gender dysphoria but for the next 13-20 years you've gotta just deal with it as you go through puberty and all of that because some people think you're just an ignorant little child who can't understand a thing. this is what you are arguing for.
