you’re very clearly in the wrong here to everyone who knows how labels work, the only people you’re fooling are those who don’t. you’re an indie artist, so you should know better. there’s no reason for you to be spewing all this nonsense on here knowing what you know through experience about labels.
I won’t say who but I SPOKE with someone associated with GOOD and the advice they gave me is not to wait for the label to do something for you. You have to go out of your way and do things yourself, if the music is good it’ll pay out. This advice came from a GOOD rep.

Did Pon De Replay get marketed to drop alongside the next big Jay Z single? Because that is the marketing Teyana got with her album. "Hey we are dropping new albums from Nas, Kanye, Kanye and Kid Cudi, and then Teyana drops after them!" That trumps any kind of VH1/BET/MTV push where tons of irrelevant artists got airplay there and did nothing.
Also, nobody stopped Teyana from dropping solo songs. She got to make the videos she wanted, the music she wanted, and she got to perform on big platforms like Ellen or Red Bull. She got a undeservedly huge push for a 30k album sales artist.
