userwhy does she have to promo herself when labels take the majority of her album profits BECAUSE they're supposed to be promoting her lol
on top of hard snippets not being a substitute for actual billboards, media appearances, magazine/etc. interviews, late night talk shows, media song placements, etc. The label should be on top of that and have her schedule filled without her having to do s*** but make music
It depends on what type of deal she has but labels are taking the majority of the gross profits because put up the initial funds so obviously they have to make their investment back first. Then when net profits come in there's interest from that loan plus the labels percentage for taking the risk in the first place. Then she gets her cut if this is a normal deal. Label's don't just take money to promote that would've already been given in the loan for her management to do all that for her before the album is out.
Notice how she hasn't said she offered to buy herself out. They're not going to just "let her go" when they probably haven't even made back the money they paid her to sign. I'm not trying to cover GOOD because they could do some things better but Teyana barely put much out and now she's taking about leaving and being ungrateful for everything they gave her on that Wyoming album.
