All there is is bars, restaurants and like 2 good clubs

No sight seeing or culture here

Most of the people that rep Houston so hard don’t even live inside the loop

Our sports team never make it past the conference championship if they do it’s by cheating

    You not from
    Houston making these claims
    Cant be
Houston probably got the most ā€œcultureā€ out of any texas city

Houston is becoming full of white folks too

Just look at EaDo and 3rd ward gentrification

Washington, midtown, heights, all used to be minority-based, but now it’s totally changed

Allen parkway/memorial area has so much development going

Everybody from Cali is moving to either austin, Houston or Miami

I’m not trying to s*** on Houston, I love it here and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, but it still ain’t it yet

Nah the white folks are just moving from the burbs and the minorities are moving to the burbs
The gentrification is sad to see though
3rd ward being split in half is a travesty

Yeah because rent and property taxes are going up and the minorities can’t afford to live there anymore

I’m talking like I’m white, I ain’t white but I live in the inner loop and have ignorant and privileged white friends

It sucks but thats the only way the city sees themselves reaching the heights of a LA or NY so it was bound to happen.

ive lived in all four cities, and they all have their significant faults and pros

houston i think was the worst for me however. horrible weather. like absolutely disgusting. but overall, when i think of the city, i just think the color grey. endless highways, and office buildings. tbh the only 'nice' parts are way out of the city, which of course, you can only live there if u got stupid money. i think for the amount of people and money the city generates, it should have a lot nicer parts throughout the whole city.

dallas i may would rank the best? idk, i find there's more variety. is it really just driving from subtown to subtown? maybe. i think that probably adds to it. anyway, it's a f***load of driving, but i mean, 25 minutes in any direction, and you can get a new vibe.

san antonio is somewhat similar. i grew up here and hated it. 'keep san antonio boring' was the line. but now it's not so bad. u have a majority of what bigger cities have but you can kinda still keep to yourself in a bubble whereever you are in the city. and driving from side of the city to another is not really that bad. maybe 40 min at max generally. so you can easily go to other spots generally easily.

austin used to be the first. but as ive grown up, it's kinda lost its appeal. if i had to think which city is made up mostly of arrogant and ignorant rich a******s, it'd be this one. i think the thing that annoys me the most about these rich a******s compared to other ones is think they believe and try to live like every one else. like..."yes, i'll be here at the green initiative meeting. we need to protect the environment, that's why i traded all my cars in for teslas" type motherfuckers.

overall i feel this city has the worst future atm. they are literally pricing out everything that made austin so great. like the Live music capitol bullshit. well, back then, yeh, there were endless music venues along the main downtown strips. and so more and more people would visit and spend their time here to see this type of s***. but now they've priced out iconic venues to either leave them empty, or they've built more hotels/apartment/condos next to them, and appeal to the city that the noise from the nearby venues are too loud, and need to shut down earlier. it's a travesty. some of my favorite memories were going to see headliners at shows that went on at 2 am, and now a lot of them have to be done by midnight or even earlier (see stubbs: 1000 pm)

so now it's becoming a city of high skyrise condos and empty ass buildings because they priced them out. obviously s*** that no one will want to visit.

whats more is that the recent moves from tech will only make it worse. what happened in the bay is that as more money came to the city, everyone felt justified in taking advantage and trying to get more money from the city. if you're renting out an apartment for 800/mo, but this dude that came in that makes 150k can pay 1400,/mo why not hike up your rent to that. it's there. it's available. you almost would be stupid not to

and so what happens is that you have few rich f***s that can pay the ridiculous costs, but all the normal people now have to move out 50+ miles away.

overall i think more and more people will begin moving further south. i already know lots of people who live in San Marcos but work in austin, and a few people that live in San Antonio that work in austin, but i think that'll only become worse. And it's going to affect san marcos, new braunfels, and san antonio negatively too unless they could do some proactive planning and prepare for it. (they wont, duh).

idk where i'd dip to tho.
