I gotta say, having just finished a listen of the second half and a second listen of the first, the disc 2 feels like it muddies some of the best moments of disc 1 and I really wish it was its own thing. The first half is cohesive, messy but consistently so, and tells a narrative effectively. 15 bonus tracks that feel like bonus tracks is… a lot

Very much enjoying the first half so far, though. Even if the lore outweighs the music too often as the reviewer put it

I wonder if this overabundance of boring songs in one album will impact her at all. Even some Swifties I know are pretty underwhelmed by the entire thing and feel like she needs to take a break or actually try something new again

There are very few good songs on this. But almost all of the ones that you could argue are solid are from Disc 2 imo.
