i feel like im being gaslit with this whole narrative cause the whole argument was taylor's camp saying the phone call never took place

kim leaked the call proving it took place

taylors team pivoted to uhhh kanye never said b**** in the call

no one cared taylor still lied

then the full phone call leaked and it was still the same s*** we saw

then taylor threw out that narrative again uhh never said b**** and everyone is #TeamTaylor

Well when you change a line after you discussed it with someone, then you should probably reach out again about the changed line before its released.

Once again, the line was for all intents and purposes the same. It’s semantics. Like Nort just said above your post, the sentiment for Kanye taking credit for her success is there in both lines. It was a courtesy for him to call her and ask about the line in the first place.

I think the confusion is not about whether or not they called, but what the nature of the call was. Taylor's publicist implies the call was only to ask her to release it on her twitter, when they clearly discussed the line in question in the call.

EDIT: This is apparently the full original statement, in the spirit of fairness. Either way, it seems like semantics over the word "bitch" when the lines were all essentially the exact same.

this is what is called...receipts, right?

should the thread not have ended here? what's left to discuss?

The sentiment of Kanye taking credit for her success is there in both lines, thats what she went on stage to complain about. She snaked him.

I’ve lurked for years bc I forgot my password, but I had to make another account just to give you props for this.
F***ing exactly. If she had a problem with his messaging, she could have said something about that and disagreed with that live instead of fully snaking him and pretending that she’s mad because he took “credit for her fame” or whatever.

When Kanye went on SNL for Pablo’s release, a whole rant of him backstage leaked and he mentioned fake ass taylor Swift - he was genuinely confused by wtf happened there.

She also gave him carte Blanche and said “do whatever feels right” . I also mention to ppl that Songwriting is an iterative process and if you’ve heard the countless Kanye leaks and mumble demos, his lyrics change and have variations all the time. I guess he genuinely felt like throwing the b**** in there wasn’t a big deal.

She lied and shifted the narrative, and knew what what she was doing. I want to go further and say she capitalized on a whole history of white women tiers ,lying on black men to victimize themselves, but idk maybe that’s a bit dramatic.

That’s not what she was mad about. She was at some award show or interview and took a shot at Kanye for the “made her famous part” as in he was taking credit for her success.

Kim posted the video of Kanye and her telling Taylor about the line.

It was then that they pivoted to “oh you called her a b****

is it...not a fact...that he left out the word b****...when he was so kindly asking for permission to use these lines in a song? am i wrong on that? cause that's what the publicist said and that's all i wrote.

Well, no. Changing a line.. changes a line.

And does this sound like approval for the famous line?

West: Okay, now what if later in the song I was also to have said, uh… “I made her famous”? Is that a…

Swift: Apprehensively. Did you say that?

West: Yes, it might’ve happened. Laughs.

Swift: Well, what am I going to do about it?
