Kanye should have not left a word out of the lyric that might have caused issue, if he changed it after the fact, it's better to make completely sure she was okay with it rather than just going with the revision and assuming it's okay.

Kanye didn’t even have to check in with her in the first place. He was within his rights to just put the song out. He did that out of courtesy to her.
