btstueditthat’s my problem with it. it’s like my first indie folk album i mean i appreciate she went and made music that’s not typical of what she makes but there’s a billion niggas making better folk. when sufjan stevens exists there no need for a taylor folk album
Why are Leonard Cohen, Karen Dalton, Nick Drake considered some of the best artists despite making regular folk music? It’s because of their songwriting containing emotion and vulnerability among others, and their singing ability. Sufjan is not only a folk artist, he makes a wide range of thing so idt that’s a good example. People act like “watered down folk” actually means anything when Folklore was good for a start, I expect this one to be on the same level and I hope she keeps making this music
