Loser sticks out on this, in sound and in quality

End of Summer isn't as grand an outro as I'm used to from Tame Impala, but it's a fine track

Other than that, I enjoyed this and looking forward to next listens. He's 5/5 on solid albums

The melody at the one minute mark on See You On Monday has a Beatles feel to it imo .
I swear I’ve heard a melody similar to that in one of their songs but I just can’t remember what song it would be

There’s just something kind of…off about this album?

Like I think he had a great direction for it. Going balls deep in the dance sound makes sense on paper. He was working his way towards it on The Slow Rush.

But the execution on a lot of it is just kind of lacking. Maybe he going for a more minimalist sound overall to put emphasis on the rhythm? But it doesn’t really work in the big picture when you got some songs like Dracula that are so well developed musically

Not a terrible album, but it’s probably his worst showing so far.

Problem is he didn’t go balls deep. It’s like all his experience in making something simultaneously experimental and grandiose (literally the whole thing that makes his sound his sound) went out the window. His Reddit page is saying he sold his catalog for past and present and he sounds uninspired, and I hate that I agree. I don’t hate the album though, it’ll probably grow on me
