What films have u seen of his? So i know what to work with
You working with a blank slate lol. I've seen none

Ichi The Killer is what i would point you towards first then, probably his most iconic film and a great introduction to his craziness. Itās more on the wacky side, so if you want something thatās tonally more serious iād point you towards something else. But all in all this is an absolute gem of cult cinema. Beware that this film gets gore-y at points though.
If you want a bigger budget epic, iād say check out 13 Assassins. A more grounded story with an insane 1 hour long climax. Absolute peak.
Gozu if you want his take on a Lynch film mixed with J-horror
Dead or Alive (the first) to get introduced into his yakuza crime films
First Love if you want the most accessible slice of more modern Miike films
Enjoy! And do let me know in here whenever youve seen a film of his, they are sure to leave an impression fr

UK is technically not Europe anymore
i ordered a deck of cards my gf wanted from the UK Which was about 20, and with import fees it was 50. Insane
Hopefully a retailer like amazon makes it an option to purchase here

If you want some stylized violence like Ichi The Killer, then Blade of the Immortal is cool. Also based on a manga just like Ichi was

Finally got around to watching this.
Firstly I downloaded the wrong version. I got the 1963 version and was thinking damn this man been making films since the 60s? It was a few minutes in when I realised I had the wrong one because the subs weren't matching up.
Anyway
What a film man. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The random unexpected comedy caught me by surprise. That s*** started out so dark with the amputee girl. The pacing was so good too. Never got bored or wanted to check how long I had left.
Good shout. I'm about to dive deep into Miikes films. I've been in a Japanese cinema binge like crazy the past few weeks. I watched Late Spring yesterday. BEAUTIFUL cinematography
103 is brazy work im watching audition soon
As a big Miike fan i always thought audition was overrated lowkey
