but without them that album wouldnt have been successful how it was. TDE mismanages a lot of their artists but SZA is not one. Any other label and she wouldve been dropped before ctrl

SZA is only hindered by TDE now. During CTRL era, sure. But TDE has fallen off since then, that's why Kendrick is jumping ship

during SOS era as well? They are the ones who got her on a major, without them ctrl wouldve never came out cause of how indecisive and chaotic she is to manage, their timing and promotion is what caused SOS to be so huge, they got her the correct features, made great videos, as an artist they have managed her well. If they had dropped in covid time like she wanted the album would not have performed as well as it did, all while shes being a massive loud annoyance the whole process and completely s***ting on her label's reputation. Ctrl would've never even emerged or came out without TDE taking her hard drive and telling her she dont have a sound yet

I think republic are more concerned with her and that's great, I'll be surprised if she doesn't jump s*** soon

It's funny that you think TDE was involved in any significant capacity with getting her features or creative direction behind her music videos. SZA is in continuous fights over her releases, she was literally in tears arguing with TDE execs because they didn't want SOS to drop in December. SZA got her wish and now look at how successful that album was. They obviously helped in her come-up but they also made a s*** ton of money of her, SZA does not owe them s*** and it's clear that TDE has fallen off in the last few years. I'd be surprised if she doesn't jump ship once her contract is up. It's no shock why Kendrick has left them behind

all the performative bullshit she was pulling was crazy
things behind the scenes are often different than artists try to paint them
they did help with creative direction they literally made the ctrl tracklist, and if it was up to her SOS wouldve dropped in 2020 right after good days and she wouldnt have been able to tour off it, would not have had its impact either its timing was crucial to its sucess. SZA owes them her entire career, any other label would not have dealt with her erratic and unreliable behaviour.
Kendrick left to start his own work. He literally owns a part of tde they cant control him, he has documented why he took so long.
A lot of the songs on SOS are clearly not even old they are from the same year or months before, i dont know why she was being dishonest about the album being done since 2020 when thats clearly not true.

Bro there's literally leaked audio of her arguing with TDE execs about the album's release date. Again, you keep mentioning CTRL. We're talking about SZA right now and the state of TDE as a label RIGHT NOW, not 7 years ago. TDE is only a hindrance for her at this time. I'm just going to assume that you work at TDE at this point because I've never seen anyone go this hard for that dogshit label in 2023

does her arguing with them make her right? Shes not entitled for it to drop whenever she wants she isnt who put all the money into it.
and why do you consider her reliable when shes been known to lie? and that footage contradicts what she was telling people?
We are talking about the state of TDE handling SZA.
At this time after SOS sure she can jump ship and it wouldnt be bad for her, cause shes a superstar now.
You braindead fans obv are gonna assume this cuz u havent dealt with a dif opinion or have any knowledge of this industry if your gonna call me paid lol. For most of her time at TDE sza has been a destructive indecisive b**** that just blames punch for all her problems. Including all the fans in the comments complaining about music videos and remixes from a label not considering whether she herself is even asking or working on stuff like that.
let's show some accountability to all sides here

Low key feel like they made the right decisions for both SOS and ctrl but they were and are still crappy

Well yeah obviously, the album came out almost three years later

There was most likely a finished version of the album in 2020 but she kept recording in the years that followed after TDE stopped her from releasing it then

  • Dec 13, 2023

    excited to watch

she's doing a live concert on Apple Music in an hour and 21 minutes, it would make sense for the album to drop on Friday

Tbh I don't really believe her when it comes to tde holding her albums back due to the ctrl situation. Anyways I think she outgrew tde musically and she didn't feature any members on her album I think she definitely leaving.
