my mom and sister aren’t big time recording artists who do professional photo shoots but if they were and elected to pose like this and didn’t pay someone at all for their time and effort i wouldn’t get mad about the photos getting posted bro

Yeah, I’m not saying what he did is right. What he did is more of a grey area. She already broke the terms by not paying him. He’s out of pocket and owns the images. According to him there is no contract stating that he cannot share the images. This is only a topic of discussion because she made it a conversation about consent based on the nature of the images. He will automatically look bad. You can voice your opinions and state that you don’t like the images but just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean that I can’t share. The only way for her to truly block these images is have an iron clad contract or buy the images and have a clause that the photographer cannot share them. I work in advertising and we did a commercial for a major cough syurp brand and one of the models didn’t like her image because she was reacting to the taste in it but the whole premise of the shoot was headshots of people reacting to the taste. She had signed a release form before the picture were even taken and tried to block the images going out because she thought she looked unflattering. Let’s just say she lost that argument. Additionally, us as the advertising agency owns those images since we paid and commissioned the shoot. The photographer cannot share the work on his own feeds without permission and signing new documents and can only select a very limited few. Granted we don’t really enforce that as it doesn’t impact us. Her being who she is should have simply had an agreement laid out. End of story.
