    @SKYKILLA

    I'll say it like this

Many of us who are socialists are involved in organizations which have these conversations almost every day.

    Attesting for myself

I'm involved in a group in my city that is a nationwide organization. We have hundreds of conversations with workers at bus stations, outside Amazon warehouses, outside construction sites, Walmarts, protests, Laundromats and many other places every week. Almost everyday we send out groups of people to talk with local working class people, we talk about their issues, pass out our newspaper and invite them to our political studies/events.

I'm not acting like I don't hear from people who are not interested, don't want monumental change or actively oppose our ideas.

But I also hear from so many workers who are sick of being exploited, sick of struggling to pay rent and figure things out. Some of them already are into Socialism and revolutionary politics. Some are not, but we don't care.

As a Maoists, we use a tactic known as the "mass line." It's where we meet people at their political level and guide them to the left. We meet them on their issues and hope to show them how through Socialism we can fight back on those issues.

Obviously, there won't be a revolution tomorrow, nobody is saying that. But when I talk to older organizers who have been doing it for ten, fifteen years... They all say that the amount of people interested has tripled since they started.

Our organization has grown significantly along with the number of supporters we have.

(Also I'm sitting in my room listening to DOOM too. DOOM calls for a revolution in several of his songs)

    great post

amazon warehouse workers and wal-mart workers are probably more likely to be on the more unhappy spectrum than employees of other business' lol. so i could def see why they would be interested.

i know a lot of people in a spot like that tho - and at the end of the day they just want their own slice of the pie. they want a house paid off, a family, stability. maybe their own business. you can try to guide them and convince them - but if you have to try really hard to convince them in the first place, are they really gonna support the cause when push comes to shove? are they real deal socialists or are they just working folk that want a way out and are open minded?

i said in like my first or second post that i think a uprising or something could happen in the next 50 years. do i think it'll be built around a socialist revolution? i dont think so, but thats just my opinion. it could be an uprising around a list of things our government is failing at, with the goal being to reach a solution that doesnt result in tearing down our system.

shrinking wages, lack of jobs, lack of infrastructure, taxes too high along with the taxes being spent on bullshit etc.

Marijuana is a poison. People are branding it for something it's not and it's harming innocent lives

    That’s such stupid agreement

So why cigarettes and alcohol legal when they infinitely more harmful

That's not what I'm saying we should do, we already know how that went (with alcohol we have a decade of evidence)

  • Love to see social democracy so popular on ktt2

    Taste won

  • Synopsis

14% housing not a human right
53.6% saying landlords are not evil
28.6% dont support defunding the police
    67.1% in support of capitalism.

With the exception of housing, which is literally a UN human right, these are all the opinions of normal individuals

The fact only 14% dont think housing is a right and the majority didnt oppose defunding shows this is actually pretty progressive

  • 25% supporting US actions

    f***ing swines
