Donkey kong 64 was first re-released on wii u because of microsoft. And also, microsoft has made it clear Nintendo isnt a direct competitor, sony instead is, just look at the videogame market in japan, the games PlayStation isnt getting are going on switch and viceversa and its been going on since the 90s they dont f*** with eachother mfs were beefin hard in the 2000s

next smash will never live up to this one.

Best option for Nintendo to do going forward is keeping the dlc coming

Maybe give it a year or two before releasing more dlc.

Maybe add dlc for stages, game modes, costumes, mii costumes, music and echo fighters

They have plenty of chars that are able to be added, especially if they turn current trophies/spirts into fighters which they have done a bit already.

Donkey Kong 64 is literally a Nintedo owned game bro what are you talking about, Donkey Kong is Nintendo.

Microsoft Rare deal did not include Donkey Kong since its a Nintendo created IP with Rare just doing a game(s) for it such as Country snes n 64.
Donkey Kong is not Rares nor was it ever, Micro owns Rare created ip such as Conker n Banjo, if DK64 is the only "rare" game on wii u that should tell you something also DK64 not being in Rare collection for x1.
Sony has said nice things about Nintendo too lol, but yeah i dont believe that nice talk anyways theyre all competiors no matter how they like it.

Nintendo has also said theyre not competiting with Micro AND Sony which both are false.

Also, Sony is under diff management for ps5 era now who is obviously not playing by Sonys old rules even to their detriment.

Thought dk64 particularly was co-owned with rare since it wasnt on wii virtual console my bad, but this doesnt change the point: Microsoft and nintendo are on good terms and have been for a long time now, nintendo and sony are not, to expect a sony character in smash is foolish and its gonna leave you disappointed. No, sora isnt comparable cause its a disney ip and square develops it. Steve is here cause Minecraft is on switch, banjo is in cause microsoft is friendly with nintendo and they wanted to give them an important character of Nintendo's history cause they're not losing anything by handing it since rare hasnt touched the ip in more than a decade

Square switched sides on nintendo with the n64 cause yamauchi was an ass to 3rd parties (in fact Square wasnt the only publisher to switch sides for the much 3rd party friendly ps1) and because n64 games were much more difficult to develop. Ever since the gba they've been regularly releasing games on nintendo consoles without stopping and, most of all, Square is a money hungry 3rd party publisher that thrives on showing off their characters everywhere they can cause they need to sell games, not consoles

Youre moving your argument around bro & most of the stuff you use as example is wrong or a diff case.

Microsoft and Nintendo have not been buddy buddy until rather recently.

Minecraft is everywhere because by the time Microsoft bought Minecraft (microsoft bought it out during its height, they didnt make it) is was already everywhere including on PS3 n PS4. Sure they could have snatched id it to xbox n windows only, but it would have looked bad in pr & it would hurt the bottom line in terms of sales.

Banjo is a big deal & they canceled bajo 3 for n64/gc n all other rare related stuff for Nintendo. Banjo is smash is mainly for microsoft to look good.

Kingdom hearts is a mess of ownership between square n disney, idk how deep the roots go down in this tho, but i wouldnt be surprised if sora is partly owned by disney since kh was always planned as a collab between the two.

Spiderman has appeared in sime switch exclusive titles as well, such as the one avengers game, which sony is protective & has some rights over spiderman & spiderman isnt on anything xbox related.

It is not that far fetched especially under their new management.

But anyways lol, no one is truly upset at least im not. My posts are just other potential chars that missed out that can hopefully be added in the next. Chars i mentioned are all over the spectrum.

Spiderman is not a sony character, its a Marvel character. If Marvel wanted spiderman in smash and nintendo accepted it would be possible. Its like the mlb game that released on xbox, solely because mlb told sony to do so, so even that doesnt compare to Kratos and ratchet.

Square didnt give Nintendo a mainline FF title still to this day except for some old re releases way past their prime.

Nintendo was regulated to spinoffs n remasters, which they still didnt even get most of those lol. Like how Rockstar did Nintendo after Nintendo f***ed them over n got pissy with them too back in the day.

Of course the wii couldnt have handled almost all up to date mainline ff titles, but the gamecube (the console right after n64 beef) n wii u could have.

Their beef went deeper. Nintendo pissed off many people n studios for many reasons even beyond tech from n64 until wii u era.

Rare collabs are also a surprise with how Nintendo did them dirty as well which led to Microsoft picking them up.

Yeah i had a feeling Sora would be owned by Disney. Which is crazy he is there & i understand the excitement for fans & that point.

Sony has some say in Spiderman, but yeah Marvel still has majority ownership. MLB im not surprised since baseball probably doesnt sell well on a mostly japanese focused console, bros probably wanted out.

But yeah i get it haha & def know the type.

Overall tho i do agree Sony is slim, but i dont think its impossible.

Nah wii u couldnt lol, but tbf spinoffs like ff tactics and sorta bravelt default were on nintendo consoles, without even counting other square ips like dragon Quest which were still very present. Final fantasy has mainly stayed on PlayStation and sometimes xbox cause nintendo consoles since the wii havent been powerful enough to handle them and gc didnt sell jack s*** to warrant a mainline final fantasy unfortunately, aside from the fact that console was also hard to develop for😔

True I can def see that too.

Hopefully the rumors of "switch 2" or whatever it'll be called of them doing their most competitive tech console since n64 is true n why stuff like pikmin 4 n metroid prime 4 etc. are on the backburner for the more powerful potentually near console.

Can see Pokemon Arceus, BOTW 2, Bayonetta 3 n a few others that are coming out on the seemingly tailend of Switch get a big boost n "directors cut" for the next one if its relatively near.

The only sony chars i can see realistically being added to smash is maybe a mascot char theyre not really thinking about or using

Like a Sackboy or a Sly Cooper etc.

Sony would potentially do it for promo n a positive for them.

So tossing them a "dead" char or a char theyre gonna bring back soon in a rollout thats been gone for a long time i can see.
