I’ve been trying to stay out of this thread until I finish the series, just started the last book a couple days ago and woww this s*** is starting to pay off

I’ve put so many of my friends onto this series and they’re on demon in white now and I’ll get texts daily about how perfect that book is.

I’ve finished Ashes of Man and I’m so glad the Jadd are in this.

I've listened to reviews (no spoilers) where people are saying that Disquiet Gods is the most polarizing book and that some Sun Eater fans may not be a fan of how the book is.

More than halfway through Demon in White and really enjoying the series.

But there’s been some moments that have really taken me out and after searching online if other people thought the same and had some discussions about the author, it got me looking suspiciously at the next few books in the series

Like in HD he mentions Jordan Peterson as one of the great old philosophers that has its own scholiast order its a blink and you miss it moment but yo that s*** took me out the book instantly. Then there’s been some discussions in DiW with Valka about marriage and both Hadrian and Christopher seem to basically call her culture woke nonsense LMAO

I mean the Sollan Empire and the Chantry seemed like blatant criticisms of right wing fascism and religion at least with Hadrian’s reaction to them, so to see Jordan Peterson mentioned was jarring and idiotic lol

Some people seem to think the right winging and “godliness” gets worse in the next few books. Haven’t had anything spoiled but yo

Again, pretty small shoutout but I’m familiar with most of the other names mentioned and was like who are Peterson and Gibson, since the names are modern sounding. Gibson is apparently someone the author actually knows who teaches at Princeton, but yeah Peterson is actually Jordan Peterson and he has an interview where he mentions some of peterson’s work as groundbreaking lol
