and post-denim tears-era stussy been very bland for a minute now, to be honest idk why you guys hype it up other than it being "it" club tier thanks to the Brock Marciano club. psychedelic print here d***ies cut there s*** quality here thrift-tier graphic there pointless button up here cool mohair sweater there blah blah blah

like if you're Gunna make a wardrobe why invest so much into this middle of the road culturally acceptable bullshit and just mix together much nicer things with Uniqlo tier basics. its so much more interesting

it's interesting and a decent price point I don't see what's hard to understand

Stussy’s reemergence from hot topic-tier post-2015 is directly correlated to Tremaine + Acyde being consultants for Stussy

unless they're literally the reasons for heat from the past years worth of heat, no

cause everyone in here or on their ig are here for the dope pieces they been dropping instead of some lame easy cash grabs or overpriced ass pieces just cause hype like denim tears

    2. My revulsion is rooted in caring about where people who care about the same things I care about put their money, especially when those purchases are almost entirely for ideological purposes. Beyond the pedantry someone responded to me with as to which pieces Tremaine was and wasn't responsible for as a creative director, I will always regard streetwear as an outlet for those whom are fighting for their identity, whether thats in school, transitioning to adulthood, holding onto your youth, or making your cultural values heard materially. I love some post-denim tears stussy stuff and most of it is the stuff that they really go all in on quality wise like the MMW loro piana denim stuff. otherwise I don't like this deadlock where everything feels formulaic retroactive to 3 years ago. What has streetwear made clear about itself in the past 15 months statement-wise outside of people liking house slippers more? And who better to make a statement than the people behind some of the most politically-charged work in streetwear recently? If I'm riffing off on ktt im opening a dialogue, not looking to win an argument so to speak. the culture that stussy is in many ways at the helm of is responsible for influencing many people's character and interests. Dismissing criticism of Stussy being on cruise control is not beneficial if the community seeks to sustain itself as an area for people to fight for the ways in which they seek to express themselves. And without being reductive the streetwear/fashion community is lacking specific criticisms or rebuttals outside of hating supreme, collabs, Virgil, and advocating for sustainability.

I don’t think anyone’s ever even mentioned dudes name in fashion section (or even on ktt in general) before tbh

(I did make a thread/post about him when he was looking for beats for an album in creative section tho lol)

Stussy did one of the greatest 180s in fashion history. If they were to continue on the road that they were going, they’ll probably be looked at like Obey by now to fashion/style guys.

    Big facts

Crazy thing is,they really tried to sell separate gear to Zumiez with the best stuff being sold in boutiques and their flagships but that Zumiez audience and stench just overtook everything. Stussy went into trying to be accessible in the worst way possible at that time imo.

Now I feel like their accessible in the right way, their thinking about the people who actually know about the brand, the people who actually make money to cop the s*** and are fans. Very glad things worked out tho cause s*** could’ve went way south with that Zumiez s***.(kinda feel like Zumiez wanted to sell Stussy to that Hollister crowd tbh with all the basic world tour s*** they always had)

First stussy piece I ever got was a tee and it was from like a Zumies story. Coincidentally, I wore hollister that year myself

Well,I’m positive none of the people that were wearing Hollister then don’t wear it now but imagine if those Hollister people transitioned into Stussy as soon as it hit Zumiez. The brand would’ve spread like wildfire until school kids killed it and left it for for dead. If that would’ve happened,I don’t think the streetwear community would’ve been very accepting of Stussy resurgence tbh.

I knew about Stussy ever since I knew about Complex magazine and that was around 2008,but I didn’t cop my first tee till 2012. Yea,brands like Obey and Diamond Supply wanted to have it both ways but quickly realized that customer base and some form of exclusivity is way better than pure accessibility/being everywhere.

I rather have 100,000 loyal customers who always buy my product vs 1,000,000 people knowing of my product but only 500,000 actually buy but then there’s 100,000 people that buy into you but the 500,000 that originally liked your s*** doesn’t f*** with it anymore cause of that 100,000.So they drop you and you only have 100,000 customers but you have 900,000 who don’t give af about your product and it continues from there.
