I am not playing Devil's Advocate. The problem is that some of you view the unvaccinated as the devil. Once you no longer see them as human or I see people arguing that unvaccinated should not receive medical care THAT IS THE PROBLEM. Seeing vaccinated lives as worth more because they got a shot.

Should people get vaccinated? Of course. Does their hesitancy make sense? yes. I am glad some of you haven't experienced it but I know more people hospitalized by the vaccine than I do by Covid.

The majority of people who are against this vaccine being mandated are not against all vaccines. Actual antivaxxers who are against proven safe vaccines like polio, measles etc are rare

I don't believe mandates would even be necessary if people would just get the shot. Like as soon as I saw the mandates being put it in place it told me two things.

1. The CDC is all over the place with information they are giving out, which is to be expected when it comes to a virus that mutates rapidly. Leading to more hesitancy and general anti-vax rhetoric.

2. There is a large number of people who are not getting the shot of their own choice, which is leading to more spread of the virus.

At some point, the government is gonna have to step in, because if they do nothing the virus is just going to further spread and get much worse. This isn't to liken the government to some benevolent protector of the people. Moreso, it's the government just doing the bare f***in minimum in the event of a global pandemic.

Me personally I waited about 6 weeks to see what the vaccine was hitting for when it was initially put out for the public, saw it was basically like any other vaccine I've received in my life, and said f*** it and got my shots. Simple as that. Before any mandate was even put out. Back then I didn't think it'd even come to mandates cause all last year people were clamoring for a vaccine so we can "Finally be outside again!" only to see now that people are against the vaccine they've been demanding. Which has led to us being the current situation we are all in now, with a virus that's still around and mutating making current vaccines less effective because there are enough people who are not vaccinated, meaning the virus is able to survive and thrive.
