Why would anyone choose to go out and buy a bunch of bullshit when theyre going to be evicted. If anything just giving them money period increases their chances of spending after bills anyway. If they wanna ask where all that money ended up going that they "rushed" out. They should try looking at the corporations that got alot more money than the people and have a much higher chance at hiding the millions. We showed it can happen with the urgency the american people used to drive out Trump. It wasnt the mueller report, hell, it wasnt even impeachment that took him down. It was literally the American people doing the exact thing they are supposed to do.

If people actually took from that into every election not just presidential america could easily get rid of the corruption in the next 2-6 years. The voting process is basically the only real power we have left. But people are under the impression it doesnt help. There's a reason for that. Republicans already won. Dems were fighting for that 1200 but it got shot down twice. So they technically did pull 600. But they also have to get a deal done like right now. So this is best of both worlds for everyone sadly.
