Repealing section 230 would make websites not be able to censor anything

Social media, forums, review sites are possible thanks to Section 230, which shields platforms/sites from liability due to what users post. If you remove it any site would be exposed to lawsuits, so in order not to deal with that they would either ban user-generated content/comments, require you to identify yourself before you post, have to aprove your messages before you post, etc.

There was no reason to put 230 in there anyway man it was done on purpose to obstruct progress and use relief checks as hostages for your own agenda. Its nasty and you have to say no just off principle.

It goes beyond anonymous forums. What stops someone from using another persons info to post CP for whatever reason? And we both know law enforcement is too incompetent to not take the obvious fraud and place face to account and lock then up from there.

Its not only a huge incentive to invade privacy, and further gather data on people, but its easily exploitable and will only make it so people are less likely to create content to benefit society. Whether govt or companies like it or not, if it wasnt for hobbyists making open source code in their bedrooms they would not have a job
