What peak is the guy talking about? Not wanna give him clicks going off this thread

If it's oxymoron he's wrong, cause GKMC > Oxymoron (i like both)

If it's Habits & Contradictions he's right, because it's wayyyyyy better than Section 80 imo

Blank Face LP can go toe to toe with the Kendrick albums for me. Beautiful record. Habits & Contradictions as well

I always thought in the beginning of the hype Kendrick was the most assessable. Schoolboy was for the streets ab soul was for the nerds and Kendrick was the one who had both of their styles. But after Q debut album was a let down and forgettable compared to habits and contradiction but blank face was really good

I’ll slap this Hannibal Buress looking ass nigga

  • Jan 20, 2022

Idk about better but he was fasho more accessible. That's why Kendrick was the underdog of his peers

idk what this proves, GKMC was pre streaming and most of these plays are from years ago.

Humble a good song, but I'm just saying compared to the f***in party classics on GKMC it's not as good

plus it's just got overplayed in 2017/2018 idk how anyone can deny that

I believe spotify popular songs on artists page are updated monthly

    Kendrick ALWAYS set the tone

Anybody that followed TDE back then knows that they leveled up after Kendrick projects

    Been like that since OD

Q was nowhere close to Dot during S80 era

Exactly and this is how it’s always been since they started buzzing

I was disappointed with Oxy too bc H&C was so raw. Looking back his debut made sense and it was a good first album

Blank Face def felt like a return to form though

Habits is one of the best projects of the 2010s

Q is a really underrated artist

Kendrick is the greatest to ever do it.

  • Jan 20, 2022

sounds like this dork just doesn’t like kendrick

  • Jan 20, 2022

Im class of 2014 & a lot of this is cap or exaggerated. Been paying attention to TDE since 08/09ish thanks to youtube & datpiff.

Why is kendrick the only majorly successful "nerd" Rap?

I can tell he never elbowed a nigga while someone eas letting one off during Maad City.

Oxymoron is Qs worst project, H&C is highly overlooked tho & one of the label's best.

I respect him for s***ting on the project most d***ride tho (sxn80).

I still think sxn 80 is a good project & is a pivotal project, but to me quality wise overall its not as great as anything else he did after it.

ADHD is a generational song tho & the song that put Kendrick on the map (along with Look out for Detox which he doesnt even talk about lol). Still a heavy classic & still one of his best songs.

I think Setbacks and Habits are better than S80. Love all of those albums tho.

This is facts & since OD he was looked at as the leader lol.

Not to mention during s80 he was getting put on & praised by so many in the industry & passed the torch by many westcoast legacy acts.

I remember early TDE days, Jay Rock was liked by the hard dudes, Ab Soul was liked by the actual "nerds", Schoolboy Q was liked by the potheads & Kendrick was the one that attracted everyone.

Sidenote: RIP to those early TDE days, miss the freestyles, posses cuts, loosies, twitter trashtalk/clowning & youtube vlogs 😔🙏

Yeah it did make sense looking back now. He was heavily inspired by 50 cent and being signed to interscope. it did sound like he was trying to make his version of get rich die trying
