Yes I’m a b**** for hoping something I spent my money on would ship in the time the company said it would
also, if we are being honest, not sure anyone expects this to perfectly “split any song into stems”. i think we all know this thing is going to be more of a novelty.
we really are just simps for ye
This is going to be a fun thread for the next few months
we’re a family now

me when I get my refund, flip it then order it again in 8 months since y’all won’t have it either

For musicians with their own stems, remixes will be great tbh
Now thinking about it the idea set up would be 2 of these, if you wanted to use up to 8 tracks
Can’t wait to hold the stem player between my butt cheeks
he said what everyone was thinking, but too afraid to say
well, the same 808s are being used in praise God, hurricane, ok ok, jesus lord, pure souls
yes, I know they sound different but they are basically the same root sound
songs like jesus lord, pure souls, praise God, also uses the same clap
the arrangement seems so basic and feels forced to sound 'minimal'
donda interlude and tell the vision uses the same piano
the organ is overused
so, as I said, I love the album, but I can't help but notice the lack of insturmental variety in some songs, just my opinion, I don't want to convince anyone about anything
wow interesting ur actually 100% correct about the clap
idk about the 808s tho they do sound kinda different but im listening off iphone rn
either way on a 20 album song im in shock its only 4 songs that share a clap sound
it was like every other song on college dropout

this device is only worth it if ur a musician deadass

seriously, I can really only see people who know how to use a daw somewhat to be able to use this to the fullest

yeah I understand that artists can use the same sounds over and over, but compared to the congas and real drums from other albums, this sounds so plain and basic
the 808 even if it sounds different, it starts from the same root sound, they just add different distortion/compression and different notes
nonetheless I still love the album
today I listened to it entirely during work and didn't even realized it

for 22 songs its incredibly easy to listen in one sitting

also i wouldnt be too sure about the 808 being the exact same in all those songs
at least in ok ok it sounds like the root sample is much rawer than the others
also you probably feel like this cuz this is ye’s album with the most consistent use of trap drums imo

What sucks is that the stems are great to have, but the hardware itself is garbage. One 3.5mm summed output, no midi sync or anything, no control over compression/filter character/effect character etc. The potential is there for sure, but it's no better than an iPhone app in its current form.

r there iphone apps like this out by now?

Not sure if there are any with such a focused function tbh, but I’m speaking more on how it would be used in a performance setting. It’s effectively the same thing GarageBand could do on your phone tbh, very similar filters and effects and also summed into one stereo output with no sync ability

Speaking of refunds...
so lets confirm - they have straight up stopped replying emails at this point right?
