This season of Book 2 just might be as badly written as late OG Power was, my god.

It's probably the budget if I had to guess, I know they gotta pay a lot for just Mary and Meth alone. Not to mention Tate and I'm sure Michael Ealy isn't cheap either.

They're at the season number where they have to go back and renegotiate with the cast, which will deservedly want more money. Shows tend to stop at this season number if they're not the biggest of the big, to cut costs

Weak ending

I was an extra on the post credits scene of the finale. Just watched and I don’t show up on screen at all but it happens. Still got paid and had fun meeting people.

Some fun facts: the director (of that scene at least) was the actor that played Ayo Edibri’s dad in The Bear and the scene was filmed in Chicago they just put up NY parks signs up. They were worried about spoilers leaking online so they took our phones so we couldn’t film anything.

It only took about 20 minutes to shoot with multiple takes maybe 5-6 takes cause real police sirens kept f***ing up the sound while filming lol. It was a 30 second one sided phone conversation scene that we could barely hear so idk how we would’ve spoiled anything but it’s protocol and they weren’t mean about it

Was it by State & Randolph? I seen them filming over there while I was at work about a month or so ago

It was close to the tv studio in Chicago cinespace I think it was Douglas park. Filmed back in July

how you became an extra

If a production is filming in your area there’s an open call for extras you don’t need acting experience or anything just have to apply. You can probably Google your location extras casting 2024 and find out what’s filming.

Since I’ve done it a few times they’ll email me with openings asking if I’m available. It’s s*** pay, long hours, and a lot of sitting around waiting to be called on to film but I like being on set, free food, and it’s a fun place to meet people.

I decided to rewatch original power, and my thoughts haven't changed. seasons 1 and 2 are the best. went downhill after that. this lead to watching book 2 ghost. boy the over exaggeration and s***ty humor attempts, and overall obnoxiousness is nuts throughout it all. but someone itt said it's a good show if you dont question anything. cause none of it makes sense lmao
