rian johnson made the first interesting star wars movie since empire strikes back.

everything between those two were just rehashing the same ideas over and over. i like some of those movies, but they all are ultimately uninteresting and would be horrendous movies w/o the star wars name.

star wars has this big ass universe, and yet they refuse to explore any of it. we don't need an anakin origin story, we don't need to see how the rebels got the plans, we don't need to know anything more about han solo, and we certainly don't need to know anything more about boba fett. those things were great the first time. just f***ing let it go.

i really hope that the fact that this is all considered the "skywalker saga" means that the rian johnson trilogy will actually try to be its own thing.

jj abrams welding kylo's helmet back together in this new movie is f***ing poetic for how scared this series is of doing anything somewhat interesting.

2 years and yall are still repeating the same talking points ad nauseam please give it a rest we get it you don’t like the movie

This is life in the minority

Perhaps years from now, when we’ve all caught up to it’s brilliance, will you finally find peace in a Star Wars thread

It’s wild to me after seeing it that they really felt confident enough in it to almost give Rian his own trilogy I’m still laughing at the fact that they dedicated an entire section of the film to sending Finn on this mission that is ultimately rendered completely and utterly pointless.

people complaining about prequels and sequels are so annoying. stfu.

i recognize the flaws in prequels, sequels and even the original trilogy but that's not gonna stop me from liking the, the general story is still dope and the extensive star wars universe is so immersive and interesting.

i'm not saying you can't like them.

i'm saying i don't like them, and i'm talking about why i feel like they're doing a disservice to the star wars universe as a whole

If Rian had taken control of the trilogy from the beginning, then yea I’d be more open to it. But based on TFA, TLJ’s continuation was horribly executed. It’s a boring ass movie as a whole, but that’s even besides the point.

Funniest thing about the last jedi complaints is people still think the main message is "Let the past die"

Yup. The entire Finn mission didn’t work out for them. Movie is about failure in a lot of ways

That’s the only reason I can imagine they’d put the Finn rose mission in there
