Canto Bight's message has literally no impact on the rest of the trilogy or the conflict between the First Order and Resistance at large. And it is essentially the same message that the PT did better almost 20 years ago about unchecked greed and war profiteering.

Everybody kept dying and coming back, or we thought they died but they didn't lol
Still remember it as an OK watch for a terrible ending, like, it was kinda fun.

The Last Jedi did what episodes 7 and 9 were supposed to do and it was move to something new and fresh and with questions.
JJ Abrams hack of an ass decided to lean on nostalgia of the original trilogy and not make anything creative.

The Last Jedi just threw away every interesting plot point that TFA built up. Had Luke die through a force clone, had forgettable side plots etc.
(although I did like how Finn defeated Phasma toward the end of the movie).

TFA Built nothing it just leaned on the original trilogy. TLJ was doing all the work
