Bout to rewatch
Haven’t seen it since the morning showing i did.
It disgusted me
If we’re keeping it a buck I enjoy all Star Wars movies with the exception of TPM

I've had it downloaded for 3 months and every weekend I tell myself this is gonna be the the weekend I watch it... and I never do
But after leaving it alone for 6 months I've kinda forgotten a lot of the smaller parts of it and I have this idea of what the movie is in my head that might not be totally accurate. I wanna see if it's actually better or worse.

Same
I honestly don't mind the fact that they brought Palpatine back. I just think they did it in the stupidest and most convoluted away. If they just said, "oh he didn't actually die on DS2" and didn't explain any further I honestly would've much preferred that.
Do we have an actual canon explanation of how TF Palpatine is alive?
it's in the novelization, it's so...

I HATE that they brought him back. The first 6 films were essentially telling the story of Anakin/Vader. And this one undid the whole point of his existence

Them bringing back the emperor was the biggest slap in the face

No it didn't. Vader always intended on killing Palpatine, sure the motive why he wanted to do it originally was far different than why he actually ended up doing it but I don't think him being unsuccessful lessens his story. Killing Palpatine wasn't what brought him back to the light, it was saving his son.
And the whole chosen one BS has always just been Jedi propaganda.

"Falling ... Falling ... Falling ... down a massive shaft, the betrayal sharp and stinging, a figure high above, black clad and helmeted and shrinking fast. His very own apprentice had turned against him, the way he himself had turned against Plagueis ... whose secret to immortality he had stolen.
Plageuis had not acted fast enough in his own moment of death. But Sidious, sensing the flickering light in his apprentice, had been ready for years. So the falling, dying Emperor called on all the dark power of the Force to thrust his consciousness far, far away, to a secret place he had been preparing. His body was dead, an empty vessel, long before it found the bottom of the shaft, and his mind jolted to a new awareness in a new body -- a painful one, a temporary one."

Good god that is awful. They just make this weird s*** up. If that is possible why would Vader not have just transferred his consciousness into a working body with limbs?

Well I'm assuming he didn't know how, and Palpatine certainly wasn't gonna teach him.
Still though, it's so stupid... and it still leaves so many questions.

F*** Disney till the day I die lol. Idiots.
Palpatine wouldn’t teach Anakin how to transfer consciousness he made him wear a suit that hindered him

Vader should’ve figured it out by his damn self
Vader should’ve figured it out by his damn self
Remember Vader wanted to keep himself inside the suit in order to torture himself physically and spiritually.
